A SYLLABUS

S1 ILMU DAN INDUSTRI PETERNAKAN FACULTY OF ANIMAL SCIENCE

UNIVERSITAS GADJAH MADA

Course Description :

The objective of this course is to enhance students' English ability that will be helpful in the future. In particular, the course is structured to ensure that students develop essential listening and reading skills as well as mastery of precise grammar usage. Also, students are instructed on how to write an effective cover letter for a job application.

Learning Outcome:

After taking this course, students are expected to be able to:

a. master the rules in English and practice its usage as basic in developing language skills (reading, listening, speaking, and writing)

b. enrich vocabulary mastery to support students’ ability to express ideas both orally and verbally,

c. write an effective cover letter

Learning Method:

Students are expected to actively participate in learning process. Lecturers function as facilitators, who give guidance in teaching and learning process.

Evaluation:

Final Score of all students is based on the score they obtained individually from several elements with the following percentage:

1. Class Performance (punctuality, attitude, participation) 15%

2. Assignments and quizzes 35%

3. Mid-Term Exam (TOEFL) 25%

4. End-of-Semester Exam (Job Interview) 25%
