Theoretical Background 1. Classroom Management

  • Teaching
  • Novice Teacher

As the most powerful person in the classroom, the teacher has the authority to influence the type of interaction that takes place in the classroom, and this interaction is created from many factors.25 It directly contributes to the effectiveness of teaching and learning as the most effects that become almost useless if the teacher does not organizes efficiently. These individuals gain knowledge by reading our aloud in the classroom and may not fully understand the written information. 30 Department of Education, Teaching and Learning Management Advanced Cartified Module: Education (School Management and Leadership), (South Africa: Department of Education), 2008, 64.

For example, instead of expecting the teacher to explain the meaning of new words, students can be trained to go through a series of techniques, such as using clues in the text to guess the meaning, using knowledge of the addition and consulting a dictionary to determine the meaning. the meaning of a word for itself. It can be productive to ask students at the beginning of the course to share ideas about possible metacognitive or self-help strategies. Problems in classroom management generally consist of individual problems and group problems. Johnson and Bany teach six categories of group problems in the classroom in Ahmad Rouhani.

The class gives negative feedback to a student, for example when a student makes a mistake in performance. Students do not focus when the teacher explains the material and task instructions. In conclusion, the teacher is a person who has a lot of knowledge and a lot of roles, as a learning advisor and an instructor in the learning process to share and answer the knowledge problem, therefore the teacher's personality directly affects the student's behavior.

Harmer argued that the character and personality of the teacher is a crucial aspect in the classroom; it is not about the teacher himself, but rather the relationship between the teacher and the students. The teacher must measure what is appropriate for a particular student in a particular situation if he or she has made a mistake in class. A good teacher is one who helps instead of shouting. Mastering noisy lessons is one of the fundamental skills in teaching.

If a teacher has the competence of all these criteria, students learn English in the meaningful ways. The hidden pedagogy permeates the understanding that teachers (including novices) have about the essentials of the job. Providing directions is teacher-centered and is one of the most common whole-group offerings.

The advantages are that the work can be individualized to meet the needs of the students without too much difficulty, and the pace at which the student learns can be easily adjusted. In the traditional classroom, it was common for the teacher to give instructions at the front of the classroom and then assign seat work for students to complete individually.

Therefore, the result of observation in eighth grade on the use of this demonstration strategy gives an effective effect in teaching and learning process. The researcher is known that one of the guidelines for novice teacher in teaching English is to provide the maximum opportunity to students.

Moreover, the strategy in teaching English based on the theory and data collected is maximum. A discussion and demonstration strategy is effective in teaching English because students can be active in the learning process. When teaching English, the teacher uses a demonstration strategy because students are more active and enjoy the learning process.

Based on the result observation, interview and documentation, it can be discussed that the application of the demonstration strategy in teaching English in eighth grade is classified into the process (planning, application and evaluation). Demonstration and discussion strategies in teaching English will help students understand the teacher's instructions and students will take notes about what.
