This is the cleansing of the blood that has not been cleansed; it was the soul of a true believer from the remnants of sin." Sanctification is that act of the Holy Spirit by which the justified man is made holy.". Torrey says: “The baptism of the Holy Spirit has no direct reference to cleansing from sin.

A. BALDWIN OBJECTION 2

They object that many or all preachers of holiness do not bear the fruits of holiness. To the shame of him who dares to do so, it must be said that there are some who profess holiness and are hypocrites in doing so. Persons who profess holiness do not claim that they have reached such a measure of grace and fullness of the Spirit that they cannot grow in grace.

A. BALDWIN OBJECTION 6

As someone said, compromisers "come from the north, from the south. from the east and from the west and find common comfort in this chapter.". But now we are freed from the law, that dead one in which we were imprisoned; that we should serve in the newness of the spirit and not in the old letter." For what the law could not do, because it was weak because of the flesh, God sent his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh, to fulfill the righteousness of the law in us, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."

Christians are constantly presented as doing the right thing. 34; It is no longer I who do this, but sin that dwells in me." He declares: "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is useful for teaching (bad teaching if it is parallel to paganism), for reproof (had something to rebuke , if he supports sin), for the instruction of righteousness (but they make us to teach us the necessity of sin): that the man of God may be perfect (in what? the common interpretation of the seventh letter to the Romans makes him perfect in sin ), fully equipped (border, perfected) unto all good works." -- II Tim. No one is good but one, that is God; but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments." -- Matt.

Therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me." -- II Cor. I think God appointed us the apostles last, as it were, to death, because we have a spectacle for the world and for angels and for men." 1 Cor. b). 34; Let us then go out to him outside the camp (where he died) who bears his reproach." Heb. c).

I can know Him, and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, which are made conformable to His death." - Phil.

34; Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied." -- Matt. 34; If we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin." I Jno. 34; And that you should be with the new man clothed, which was created after God in righteousness and true holiness." - Eph.

34; To the end that He may establish your heart blameless in holiness before God.” 1 Thess. 34; God has chosen you for salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and faith in the truth.” -- II Thess. 34 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become ministers of God, you have your fruit unto holiness and unto the end of eternal life.” Rom.

34. Herein is our love perfected, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: for as he is, so are we in this world." I Joh. And be freed from the ills in which it was sunk up to the neck, the returns to him who made it.” And the gnostic (meaning the man who has attained the knowledge of God) who has reached the pinnacle, will pray that contemplation may grow and continue as the common man will for continued good health."

34; the brightest and loveliest portrait of holiness and virtue." Macarius was born in the year 300 AD.

A. BALDWIN OBJECTION 9

They were doubtless 'renewed in the spirit of their minds,' or they could not be so much as infants in Christ; but they did not have the whole mind that was in Christ, because they envied one another. To prove that the incarnation remains in the justified soul in the dispensation under which we now live, we must turn to the New Testament. In the following passage Jesus says that they are saved and prays for their sanctification: "They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.

They wanted to be great in the kingdom that they believed Christ was about to establish. This is seen in the case of Thomas, who would not believe unless he could see and handle Jesus. The fact that carnality remains in the hearts of those who are saved is learned, not only from the experience of the disciples, but also from the teachings of the Bible elsewhere recorded.

The apostle here directly affirms that the flesh, the evil nature, opposes the Spirit, even in believers; that even in the regenerate there are two principles, 'in opposition to one another.' ". John says, "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another (that is, justification), and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin." -- These passages, along with others , which could be cited, show that there remains in the heart of the merely justified Christian a sinful principle called "the unrighteousness of the flesh," and.

34;filth;" from which he must be cleansed, and from which he will be cleansed if he walks in the light.

It is a fuller development of the power, if we may call it that, which is already in life.

A. BALDWIN OBJECTION 12

A. BALDWIN OBJECTION 13

These are days when the two damning sins of the world, greed and pleasure, have conspired to take things and even the church is crippled by it. Look into the history of every fallen nation and you will find that these two forms of sin have been the lever that brought about their downfall, and with various modifications they have overturned the spirituality of every worldly church. Commercial greed, political thievery, and ecclesiastical pomp and imitation centralize power and wealth in great men and affairs, while the common herd dances to the music of their multiplying pleasures, and, to satisfy their insatiable desire for fun and pleasure, throw all they have has. in goods, might or argue extravagantly and indifferently in the mean of the great molog that hourly tightens its grip on them.

While one seeks profit, another seeks pleasure; while one is miserly, another is spendthrift; while one seeks pleasure, another invents the means of enjoyment to keep the pleasure-seekers on the run and not tire of the old things. The nominal church is caught in this flood of sin; now the apostle's prophecy has been fulfilled, and men love pleasures more than God. The Athenians spent their time seeing and hearing new things, and even Paul could not reach them.

Once again, the thousand and one imitation religions that are dismissed as paths to heaven are obstacles. In the past, people believed in the Savior Jesus; now they believe in the man Jesus: once they thought they must be holy in heart; now they must follow Jesus; once they feared an eternal hell; One great reason for the lack of success among holiness professors is found in the fact that so much is portrayed as holiness, which is untrue.

People are concerned with superficial holiness and will not accept what is thorough.

A. BALDWIN OBJECTION 15

Some object that the profession of all sanctification leads to fanaticism and makes its professors impossible. No matter how innocent, ruthless, and holy professors may be, they are with very few exceptions accused of the vilest sins and improprieties. Rejoice and rejoice greatly, for great is your reward in heaven, for thus they persecuted the prophets who were before you." - Matt.

This method of false accusation has always been one of the devil's great sticks in his war against holiness and, in fact, against Christianity itself. After Tertullian has gone to great lengths to name and refute the charges brought against the Christians of his day, he sums up the whole matter by stating that the only crime charged against them was their name. 34. Because you, being in other cases most scrupulous and persevering in investigating charges of much less serious import, therefore give up your care in cases like ours, which are so terrible and of so transcendent a sin that impiety is too mild words are spoken to them, by refusing to hear a confession, which should always be an important process for those who conduct legal proceedings; and if we fail to conduct a full investigation, which should be investigated by, for example, filing charges for conviction, it becomes clear that the crime charged against us does not consist of any sinful conduct, but is entirely in our name.

In answer to the charge that the profession of holiness leads to fanaticism and wild notions, let us quote the following from Wesley, the well-known leader, in modern times, of the holiness movement. Fly again to Christ, and keep in the good old way, which was once delivered to the saints; the way even a heathen testified about: 'That the Christians rose early every day to sing hymns to Christ as God.'. 34;A foundation of many of these errors is taking any fresh and strong application of any of these Scriptures to heart, to be a gift of a new kind; not knowing that some of these Scriptures have not yet been fulfilled; that most others are fulfilled when we are justified; the rest at the moment we are sanctified.

34; Another reason for these and a thousand errors is that one does not think deeply about the fact that love is God's highest gift; humble, gentle, patient love; that all visions, revelations, manifestations.
