In general, to be considered for doctor program, candidate need to meet the requirements high-quality Master’s degree with minimum GPA 3.25 in a field to the research theme, from appropriate standard university.
Candidate also has to English Language Proficiency Test (ELPT ITB) or Institutional TOEFL (minimum score is 475), and Academic Potential Test (minimum score is 475).
Structure of The Curriculum
Academic Staff R e g i s t r a t i o n
1. Application is conducted in 2 periods, January – June for 1st semester and October - mid December for 2nd semester. Especially for students that provided by BPPS (Graduate Scholarship Program), application is conducted in January – April. Registration will be conducted by Graduate School of ITB in Jalan Tamansari no.64, Bandung 2. Applicants have to fill in registration form and make
its copy (1 original + 1 copy) and complete it with other documents as following :
- Stamped letter of statement declaring that applicant have never been dropped out or resigned from ITB
- Legalized certification of bachelor and master graduation
- Academic transcript of bachelor and master degree
- Original document of ELPT ITB or institutional TOEFL
- Copy and original document of academic potential test
- Letter that state applicants health condition from doctor
- Three pieces of the recent photos (4 x 6 cm), - All application documents should be delivered
by applicants him/herself or by post inside 2 separate file-folder to Graduate School of ITB - Especially for BPPS candidate, BPPS form
should be attached in application document (2 copies)
1. Semester I (9 credits)
- Research Methodology (*) 3 credits
- Science Philosophy 3 credits
- Elective course 3 credits
2. Semester 2 (8 credits)
- Dissertation proposal submission 5 credits - Qualification examination 3 credits
3. Semester 3 (5 credits)
- Research and Seminar of Research Progress 15 . credits
4. Semester 4 (5 credits)
-Research and Seminar of Research Progress 25 . credits
5. Semester 5 (5 credits)
- Research and Seminar of Research Progress 35 . credits Doctorate Program curriculum consists of compulsory and elective course, qualification examination, research proposal submission, research, scientific publication, and spelling exam. Doctorate program consists at least 40 credits. This program will be held for 3 years or 6 semester, and maximum 5 years.
The following is the stage of doctoral education for all field of choice:
Doctorate program run at the School of Pharmacy ITB leading to the achievement of graduate competencies as follows:
1. acquiring skill to design research agenda, to conduct research, and to disseminate research products at national and international level.
2. acquiring skill in leading the implementation of research i n a c a d e m i c a n d t e c h n i c a l m a n a g e m e n t , mono/multi/inter disciplinary in the university, department or non-department research institution, industry or non-government organization
3. acquiring skill to synthesize science and technology in the context of problem solving and problem preventing in the pharmacy field.
6. Semester 6 (8 credits)
-Research and Seminar of Research Progress 45 credits -Open session 2 credits -Colloquium 1 credit
*If the course already taken during master program, it will be replaced with elective subjects
Academic staff are highly qualified doctor. They come from different research groups from inside and outside of School of Pharmacy ITB.
Graduate School (Sekolah Pascasarjana) provide several scholarship in cooperation with other institution, as following:
1. Graduate Scholarship Program (Beasiswa Pendidikan Pascasarja (BPPS). BPPS is intended for academic staff of public or private university who are civil servant or permanent lecturer of the institution. Applicants have to complete requirements as specified in the form registration. PhD students should not be older than 50 years old when they start their dissertation.
2. Voucher Scholarship
Head of research group could give recommendation letters for PhD student to support research program in each research group.
3. Sandwich Scholarship Program
Directorate General for Higher Education (DGHE) provides this scholarship for doctoral candidate to enhance their knowledge to conduct research at foreign laboratories for the period of 4 months.
4. DIKTI Research Grant
This program is intended for doctoral student who is active and will do research in ITB, with maximum amount of grant is Rp 50.000.000.
