Introduction
University as a higher education has a responsibility to develop science and technology for the benefit of the nation. Excellence in research has been the main condition to become an independent and modern society. Universitas Indonesia is accelerating research to a higher level of quality that indicated by number of publishing in an international accredited journal.
Currently, research in biomedical engineering has been flourished in many institutes in Indonesia. This trend is driven by divergence problemsand their solving methods that normally has multidiscipline approach.Therefore, an integration and well directed research is highly needed to accelerate the result. Additionally, a strong collaboration between research institutes and industry is also embraced to synergize with roadmap of ministry of health Republic of Indonesia.
Research Center for Biomedical Engineering FTUI organizes International Symposium in the field of biomedical engineering. This symposium will be the first biomedical engineering event that held by an Indonesian institute. This event shall be a national agenda to empower biomedical application in Indonesia. The event will be held on 31 Mei – 1 Juni 2016 in Depok Jawa Barat. The symposium aimed to populate 20-30 best articles in this field and will be published in an internationally accredited journal.
