vii RINGKASAN

Semakin kritisnya permasalahan lingkungan yang diakibatkan berbagai kegiatan bisnis yang tidak bertanggung jawab terhadap lingkungan, aspek-aspek Environmental, Social, dan Governance (ESG) semakin menjadi pusat perhatian investor, regulator, dan pihak berkepentingan lainnya untuk melaksanakan kegiatan bisnis yang berkontribusi positif terhadap pemecahan permasalahan tersebut. Indeks IDX ESG Leaders dibuat untuk mengukur kinerja harga saham yang memiliki penilaian Environmental, Social, dan Governance (ESG) yang baik dan memiliki kinerja keuangan yang baik. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka dapat dikatakan bahwa penerapan Environmental, Social, dan Governance (ESG) dalam kegiatan operasional suatu perusahaan dapat memberikan keuntungan bagi perusahaan dalam hal kinerja serta lingkungan sekitarnya.

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan data sekunder pada perusahaan yang terdaftar di IDX ESG Leaders Bursa Efek Indonesia dan periode penelitian adalah lima tahun dari 2018 hingga 2022.

Penelitian ini mengambil judul: “Pengaruh Pengungkapan Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Terhadap Kinerja Perusahaan (Studi pada Perusahaan yang Terdaftar di Indeks IDX ESG Leaders Bursa Efek Indonesia)”. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pengungkapan Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) terhadap kinerja perusahaan pada perusahaan yang terdaftar dalam indeks IDX ESG Leaders di Bursa Efek Indonesia pada periode 2018 hingga 2022. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua perusahaan yang terdaftar di indeks IDX ESG Leaders Bursa Efek Indonesia yang berjumlah 80 perusahaan. Metode pemilihan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode purposive sampling.

Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan analisis data yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode FEM (Fixed Effect Model) serta alat analisis yang digunakan yaitu Eviews 12, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Pengungkapan environment (lingkungan) tidak berpengaruh terhadap kinerja perusahaan, (2) Pengungkapan social (sosial) berpengaruh positif terhadap kinerja perusahaan, (3) Pengungkapan governance (tata kelola) berpengaruh positif terhadap kinerja perusahaan, (4) Pengungkapan Environmental, Social, dan Governance (ESG) berpengaruh negatif terhadap kinerja perusahaan.

Implikasi dari kesimpulan di atas yaitu upaya perusahaan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran terkait penerapan Environmental, Social, dan Governance (ESG) baik secara individu maupun secara keseluruhan untuk menunjukkan tanggung jawab perusahaan kepada pemangku kepentingan,

investor, dan pemegang saham. Investor sebaiknya lebih memerhatikan pengungkapan Environmental, Social, dan Governance (ESG) perusahaan sebelum mengambil keputusan investasi pada perusahaan yang terdaftar di indeks IDX ESG Leaders, sebagaimana tujuan adanya indeks ini adalah untuk mendorong praktik investasi yang mengedepankan aspek lingkungan, sosial, dan tata kelola perusahaan dalam penerapan investasi berkelanjutan atau sustainable investing di Indonesia. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan melakukan pengungkapan secara keseluruhan sebagaimana tertera pada modul Global Reporting Initiatives (GRI).

The increasingly critical environmental problems caused by various business activities that are not responsible for the environment, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) aspects are increasingly becoming the center of attention of investors, regulators, and other interested parties to carry out business activities that contribute positively to problem solving. The IDX ESG Leaders Index was created to measure the price performance of stocks that have good Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) assessments and have good financial performance. Based on this, it can be said that the application of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) in the operational activities of a company can provide benefits for the company in terms of performance and the surrounding environment.

This research is a quantitative research using secondary data on companies listed on the IDX ESG Leaders of the Indonesia Stock Exchange and the research period is five years from 2018 to 2022. This research has the title:

"The Effect of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Disclosures on Performance Companies (Studies on Companies Listed on the IDX ESG Leaders Index of the Indonesian Stock Exchange)”. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) disclosures on company performance in companies listed on the IDX ESG Leaders index on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the period 2018 to 2022. The population in this study were all companies listed on the index. IDX ESG Leaders Indonesia Stock Exchange, totaling 80 companies. The sample selection method was carried out using a purposive sampling method.

Based on the results of research and data analysis conducted using the FEM (Fixed Effect Model) method and the analytical tool used, namely Eviews 12, this study shows that: (1) Disclosures of the environment (environment) do not affect company performance, (2) Disclosures of social (social) has a positive effect on company performance, (3) Disclosure of governance (governance) has a positive effect on company performance, (4) Disclosure of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) has a negative effect on company performance.

The implication of the conclusions above is the company's efforts to increase awareness regarding the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) both individually and as a whole to demonstrate corporate responsibility to stakeholders, investors and shareholders. Investors should pay more attention to company Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) disclosures before making investment decisions in companies listed on the IDX

ESG Leaders index, as the purpose of this index is to encourage investment practices that prioritize environmental, social and corporate governance aspects in implementing sustainable investment or sustainable investing in Indonesia.

Efforts that can be made is to make full disclosure as stated in the Global Reporting Initiatives (GRI) module.
