Writing Recount Text 1. The Concept of Writing
- Process of Writing
- Recount Text
The purpose of retelling text is to list and describe past experiences by retelling events in the order in which they happened (chronological order). 16 Olla Refilda, Increasing student performance in reading comprehension of retell text through SQ4R strategy, (no publication), 2012 .p. 18Doni Ramli, A Research Journal, An Analysis on Students' Errors in Writing Recount Text (Pontianak: Tanjungpura University, 2013), P. 2.
According to Sue Stubbs, there are several language features when writing recount texts, such as:.
Error Analysis
According to Richard & Schmidt, error analysis had been done because of several purposes, namely: First, it is used to recognize several strategies that the student uses in language learning; trying to identify the cause of the students'. Native speakers are usually able to recognize and correct such "lapses" or errors, which are not the result of a lack of competence, but the result of some kind of temporary breakdown or imperfection in. Furthermore, error is an inconsistent deviation that some sometimes the learner "gets it right" but sometimes wrong.
In addition, a learner makes mistakes when writing or speaking caused by a lack of attention, fatigue, carelessness or other aspects of performance. 24. The researcher argues that the errors can arise as a result of hesitation, slips of the tongue, random ungrammaticalities, lack of attention, memory slips, anxiety of time pressure, etc. These errors, which are not caused by the lack of competence, but the result of certain temporary disturbances or imperfections in the process of producing language, can normally be corrected when both learner and teacher pay attention to them.
Error is a systematic deviation, when a student has not learned something and is consistently wrong. Furthermore, an error is a noticeable deviation from a native speaker's mature grammar, which reflects the intermediate language. Based on the above definitions, the researcher concludes that errors are caused by a lack of knowledge.
Wrong word selection usually occurs when selecting phoneme, morpheme, structure, or vocabulary items. To illustrate, "don't let her wait outside in the rain" where in the rain is misplaced.
