Descriptive qualitative research is useful because it can provide important information about the average members of a group.14 In accordance with the explanation above, the purpose of this research is to know the students' ability to write descriptive text of students in IAIN Metro . The main source of this research is the writing of the second semester product of IAIN Metro. The researcher receives documents from the result of students' ability to write descriptive text.
The total number of students in State Institute of Islamic Studies Metro is 8659 students. These are the vision and missions that involve all the students of the English Education Department at IAIN Metro. Through a written test, the researcher determined the student's ability to develop content when writing a descriptive text.
This aspect is also one of the aspects that should really be taken into account when writing a descriptive text. According to the study's conclusion, the researcher recommends some suggestions to improve students' ability to write descriptive texts in the English department of IAIN Metro. IAIN Metro is the only State Institute for Islamic Studies in this city. From 2011, STAIN Jurai Siwo Metro continued to strive for STAIN Jurai Siwo Metro to be IAIN Metro. As a state, IAIN Metro was established for graduate students who have quality not only in the development of Islamic value and science.
Subsequently, to realize the vision, IAIN Metro has put together some missions, namely (1) developing three pillars of the university (education, research and development and social services), (2) developing and disseminating technology in the Islamic culture, and creating academic individuals who are smart, skilled, and have good morals. Today, IAIN Metro has four faculties namely Tarbiyah and Teacher Training Faculty, Syari'ah Faculty, Economic Business Faculty and Islamic Announcement and Communication Faculty. It will indeed be a dynamic, open and polite relationship between the stakeholders of TBI IAIN Metro.
The observation and test were used to find out to what extent the students could write descriptive texts. Then the researcher gave the test to the students and asked the students to do their best. The researcher found that the students' ability to develop the content in writing descriptive text was still low.
In sentence topic, researcher found that the students were not bad at developing the topic that had been given, but also not good at it. In this point the researcher found that the students in developing ideas to support the sentence are still lacking, it will be the students had less vocabulary until they can not make up paragraph.
Discussion
In general, the choice of using vocabulary is necessary to support the ideas of the sentence that will be conveyed in the text. So with the use of capital letters and correct spelling, readers will find it easier to understand the content of the written text. Based on the results of the study, the researchers concluded that there were still many students who had difficulty writing descriptive texts properly and accurately.

As already mentioned in the first chapter, the aim of this study is to describe students' ability to write a descriptive text focusing on generic structure, features and vocabulary in the students of English Department of IAIN Metro. The researcher would like to conclude that 25 students in the second semester are still low in writing descriptive text. There are still many students who struggle to write descriptive text in accordance with a good and correct generic structure, and students also need to improve their vocabulary, as well as many exercises to write descriptive text properly and correctly.
As well as the general structure score is 47, the features score is 45 and the vocabulary score is 49.
Suggestion
In the midst of a wave of kpop that almost hit many Indonesian youth, I was also carried away.
