Liquefaction in Palu

28 September 2018 with an earthquake measuring Mw 7.5 in Palu at depth of 11 km in coordinates 0.18 ° S and

119.85 ° E (Jalil, 2021)

The incident was affect in 180 hectares in Petobo area

with 2.050 building are broken by the liquefaction (BNPB, 2018)

The effectiveness test discussed in this paper is that were

analyzed on the soil of the Coal-Fired Power Station in Central Java area based on drilling data carried out at coordinates 506.333 N and 1351.000 E with drilling

number PBA – 12, TJB Unit 5

& 6 CFPP Project at an elevation of 1,438 m.

Stone column is one of the mitigation

techniques for infrastructure that is built

in areas with new soil, especially coastal

areas. Stone column is done by filling the

cylindrical cavity with rock. This aims to

accelerate consolidation by increasing the

rate of vertical drainage due to differences

in granular material that are stronger in

the stone column area.

wrapping it with geosynthetics is to

The results of all experiments give a better impact on soil quality by reducing excess

pore pressure and displacement. Because the dimensions used in each method are the

same, the results obtained do not show a significant difference. The most suitable

method used for the type of soil in the area under study is the micro pile. Micro-pile is

able to reduce displacement and excess pore pressure optimally compared to other

methods.
