To assess the validity and reliability of the performance test, a pilot study was conducted with a group of 100 students. The values calculated for the performance test in this study were closer to 0.50 as a desirable indicator of the validity and reliability of our assessment tool.
RESULTS and EXPLICATION
A positively high and significant relationship was observed between the performance test scores and cohesion levels of good and bad readers. An increase in students' scores on the reading comprehension performance test is strongly correlated with an increase in their scores on coherence and cohesion.
