S ELECTED THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL ASPECTS OF STATISTICAL METHODOLOGY OF QUALITATIVE RESEARCH IN

INFORMATION SYSTEMS

Whether the interpretive, semantic cognition is authentic can be determined on the basis of mutual understanding (between the researcher and the participant, the recipient of the text and its author) or the sense of conviction of interpretive accuracy in relation to defined sense relationship drawn from epistemological experience, knowledge, intuition, insight , authority (subjective criterion). Numerical results can be generalized to the general population with previously assumed probability, based on methods of statistical inference (point estimation, confidence intervals, verification of statistical hypothesis).

Empirical analysis of ICT, economic growth and competitiveness in the EU

ICT sector size in the EU area

From Table 2 we get a strong correlation between the size of the ICT sector and the evolution of GDP (average). In 2008, the economic and financial crisis weakened the European economy and the same trend applies to the ICT sector.

An investigation of e-Government Services in China

GOVERNMENT WEBSITES IN CHINA

Appendix A contains the types of services that were listed on the cities' various websites. Respondents from Shanghai have 86 percent knowledge of and 14 percent no knowledge of the website. In fact, most of the respondents who have experience using e-government services believe that the services are just "OK".

Problems in Enterprise System Implementation Across the System Lifecycle: Transition versus

Developed Economies

The project – the main implementation phase with the aim of getting system and users "up and running". Adoption – the final decision to invest resources is reached, the project is defined and participants in the project are selected. Routinization – the company uses the ES on a daily basis, the organizational procedures are adapted accordingly.

A stage-based model for RFID assimilation processes by supply chain participants in China

Antecedents of innovation assimilation

H1: Relative advantage plays a more important influence in the initiation than in the assimilation stages of RFID technology. H2: Complexity plays a more significant negative influence on the assimilation than on the initiation stages of RFID technology. H5: The current absorptive capacity of Chinese enterprises has a negative impact on both initiation and assimilation stages of RFID technology.

Measures

Data analysis

  • Measurement model
  • Structural model

The evaluation of the structural model using PLS takes place in the following two steps. The purpose of this study is to investigate the extent to which computer role-playing games improve students' understanding of learning material. The findings show that in order to improve students' understanding of the learning material, both role-plays should be implemented in the classroom.

Introduction

However, it is still unclear whether computer role-playing games are effective tools to improve students' learning process. However, the literature provides conflicting findings on the impact of computer role-playing games on students. The purpose of this study is to investigate the use of computer role-playing games in improving students' understanding of the material.

Beer Game

The next section presents the beer game, followed by a brief overview of the variables used to measure student learning. Then the research method is discussed, which is followed by the analysis of the experiments.

Manual Beer Game

Computer Beer Game

Measures of students’ Understanding of Supply Chain Concepts

Measures of students’ Understanding of Supply Chain

Overall Comprehension: It is measured by students' understanding of supply chain concepts and the need to use IT to manage supply chain issues.

Research method

The results indicated that in the computer role play, only a few students (four out of 10) understood the concept of lead time. Yes, the lead time was obvious in the computer game; I knew it when I played the game. I understood the completion time when I played the manual game, in the computer game it was not so clear.

Table 1. Summary of Experiment 1
Table 1. Summary of Experiment 1

Summary of Experiment 1

The data show that after playing the manual role-playing game, the students better understood the concepts of duration and became familiar with calculations. They stated that in the manual game, they could understand the concepts of duration and calculations and supply chain concepts, and then they could easily play the computer role-playing game once they were familiar with these concepts. More specifically, the data show that the participants felt that the manual role play gave them a good understanding of the formulas, calculations and movement of orders and shipments.

Summary of Experiment 2

In the manual, we will understand how to calculate, the cost better and then the computer will be faster to play, the manual game was too slow.

Conclusion

Studies do not provide adequate explanations as to why in some situations computer role playing is effective for student learning and in other cases there is no change. In addition, in this study, the beer game was used as a tool to assess the influence of computer role-playing games in improving classroom learning. Although the results may be applicable to other role plays in other domains, the context and variables used to measure student understanding should be considered.

Moreover, to the best of the researcher's knowledge, this is the first study to compare manual role-playing and computer-based role-playing for student assessment. Furthermore, previous studies have relied entirely on surveys to examine the difference between traditional lectures and computer role-playing games (DeNeve & Heppener, 19997; Journal of Management Development, Vol. 1994) 'The Beer Distribution Game: Using Simulation to Teach Systems Thinking ' Journal of Management Development, Vol. 2006) “Teaching medical students through role play: twelve tips for successful role play” Medical Teacher, Vol.

Socioeconomic and Sociopolitical Transformations Through Information and Communication Technologies

Evidence from Transition Economies

Moreover, the role of ICT in transition economies may change with different uses of ICT. Hypothesis 1b (Job creation): ICT investments will be positively related to job creation in transition economies. To investigate regional differences in the transformative role of ICT in transition economies (Hypothesis 3), we report the impacts of ICT expenditures on transition processes at the individual regional level.

The role of human capital in creating competitive advantage based on technology 3

Dynamic growth is our strategic priority

Among the companies surveyed, 86% said that the recognition of dynamic growth is a strategic priority (48% answered 'definitely yes', 38% 'rather yes'). The opposite answer ('definitely not') was given by 1% of companies, 'probably not' was chosen by 3% and 10%. The implementation of this objective must strengthen the company's position on the market, it gives the opportunity to make positive changes in the company, and it responds to the ever stronger.

Question 32. Flexibility and the reaction rate are the most important competitive advantages for our company

In this way, companies are increasing their chances of survival, growth and success in the competitive struggle. Those companies that follow a cooperation strategy, going beyond the scope of their activity, are aware that cooperation can bring benefits in terms of exploiting development opportunities in the future. The results show a lack of tendency to isolate and willingness to cooperate with other subjects in relation to the dominant number of companies participating in the study.

Access to sources of funding is not a barrier for our development

It is important for us to ensure that all employees know the strategy of our company

The involvement of companies in the workforce dissemination strategy can be assessed positively. Knowledge of strategies among employees should help them integrate into the company and facilitate the implementation of the strategy. The implementation of a participatory approach is consistent with the modern style of management, where decisions are discussed with company employees.

All staff know the company's strategic goals

In addition, routine work performed by employees for the company has taken on a deeper meaning. In this case, however, we do not know whether the employees were actively involved in creating the strategy, therefore it is difficult to clearly determine whether the way in which they were informed about the strategy was sufficient.

All employees know what to do so that the company achieves its strategic goals

To achieve this, the company should, as a minimum, make employees aware of their contribution to the implementation of the strategic goals.

All employees accept the strategy

We inform all employees about the current progress in implementing the strategy

An important role is played by informal leaders as channels of communicating strategic findings and demonstrating their beneficial effects on the organization's activities. Thanks to this, it is possible to react quickly to observed deviations, and thus show more flexibility which, as a result, helps to achieve a competitive advantage based on innovation.

Question 81. The responsibility for implementing the strategy belongs solely to the board

All employees are responsible for implementing the strategy

It is intended to create awareness of participation in implementation programs and to generate enthusiasm and active involvement in them, broadening the role of employees not only as implementers, but also as leaders. This is crucial when executing the innovation strategy, which is often accompanied by resistance to change.

Question 84. The employees have the opportunity to decide how to implement the strategy

Building a proactive attitude by using ICT among local leaders in developing countries

Weber wrote about the importance of cultural factors, especially religious beliefs in "The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism" - one of the most famous works of social science. He was proving that cultural factors are decisive for the economic prosperity of societies. Although some of Weber's arguments have been repeatedly criticized, however, which is confirmed by numerous studies of the end of the 20th century, the main thesis still remains current: culture has a great influence on economic and social processes.
