Ruang lingkup jurnal ini tentang sistem penyimpananenergi dari sel galvani menggunakan elektrolit dari tanaman sebagai aternatif energi terbarukan. Pembahasannya cukup mendalam dengan menggunakan instrumentasi pengujian AAS untuk melihat konsentrasi logam yang ada di dalam getah tanaman. Penelitian ini bermanfaat bagi daerah yang jauh dari listrik. Sehingga bisa memanfaatkan system energi dari sel galvani yang dibuat.

4. Kecukupan dan kemutakhiran data/informasi dan metodologi:

Data/informasi yang disampaikan cukup baik dan mutakhir dan metodologinya disampaikan secara detil sehingga peneliti lain bisa mengacu penelitian ini. Referensi yang digunakan up to date (45% referensi kurang dari 5 th artikel terbit dari 13 referensi)

Unsur artikel lengkap, kualitas jurnal sangat bagus dari jurnal IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering yang diterbitkan oleh IOP Publishing terindeks scopus.

Energy storage system from galvanic cell using electrolyte from a plant as an alternative renewable energy

Abstract

The use of sap of plant as electrolyte in Galvanic cell system consisted of zink or iron and copper electrodes is considered as a renewable alternative energy by utilising the spontaneous redox reaction to produce electricity. We study in two ways, in laboratory to learn the effect of sap to Galvanic cell potential and in field with Spondius pinnata trees at Rantau Aceh as the pilot place for electricity from trees project. Sap of plants observed were Aloe vera as the main object and banana and Spondius pinnata stems as comparisons. Then, the saps were used as electrolytes in Galvanic cell to produce electricity. The potential resulted from the cell was measured varied with the pairs electrodes used. The potentials were also measured for the cell using varied electrolytes from saps of plants as well as mineral acids, aquadest and tap water from ground water. Atomic absorption spectrophotometer was used to measure the presence of metal ions in saps. The results showed that the presence of zink or iron and copper ions in sap of the plant observed caused the high potential of the Galvanic cell system as comparison the potentials were lower for electrolytes using mineral acid, tap water as well as aquadest. Meanwhile the distance of electrodes had no potential effect and non linier potential was resulted for the series of the Galvanic cell. To harvest the electricity, iron and copper electrodes inserted in Spondius pinnata plants were used as the source of electricity from trees at Rantau, Aceh to illuminate the remote area at the night. © 2019 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

About

The Joint Conference on Chemistry is an annual conference organized by the consortium of Chemistry Department of ve universities in Central Java: Diponegoro University (UNDIP), Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), Sebelas Maret University (UNS), Jenderal Soedirman University (UNSOED) and Satya Wacana Christian University (UKSW).

This joint conference has been held since 2006 which initially started with a local seminar to accommodate the dissemination of research results from chemistry lecturers and researchers from the ve universities. Starting 2014, we enhanced the the scope of conference to be an International Conference by inviting overseas participant from all over the world.

The series of International Joint Conferences on Chemistry held are:

1. The 9 Joint Conference on Chemistry was hosted by Diponegoro University (Undip), Semarang in 2014

2. The 10 Joint Conference on Chemistry (http://mipa.uns.ac.id/10-th-seminar-internasional- kimia/) was hosted by Sebelas Maret University (UNS), Surakarta in 2015

The objectives of this Joint conference are:

1. To provide a forum for researchers, educators, students and industries to exchange ideas, to communicate and discuss research ndings and new advances in chemical sciences.

2. To give an opportunity to both academia and practitioners to communicate and discuss on Chemical problems faced in research and the industry sector.

3. To enhance the capacities of innovation from researchers and industries who apply science and technology on their work

4. To contribute a formulation of global strategies in advancing chemical science role as well as developing policy initiatives in community

5. To stimulate future collaborations among researches, educators, industries, and governments who use chemical science and technology.

The conference will be a chemistry related disciplinary event considering all the major areas of chemistry, including inorganic, physical, organic, analytical and biochemistry. This conference also presents topics on chemical education, policies, and many other interesting topics. Interfaces with other sciences and other research areas will be actively encouraged.
