Abstract

Identification of elements in human blood is very useful for diagnosis of human diseases based on human blood. In this study, laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy has been employed to identify elements in human serum blood. Experimentally, a pulse Nd:YAG laser (1064 nm, 54 mJ, 10 ns) was focused on a sample surface, which was prepared in the form of film on a copper plate, to induce a luminous plasma. The plasma was transmitted to optical multichannel analyzer to obtain emission spectrum of serum blood. Major and minor elements including C, Ca, Na, H, and O are clearly observed.

Furthermore, CN molecular band, which is specific content in organic material, is also occurred at 388 nm. Using the present LIBS technique, identification of elements including major and minor elements can rapidly be made. © 2019 Author(s).
