The Generalized Space Time Autoregressive (GSTAR) model is one of the space-time models used for rainfall modeling and forecasting. The aim of this research is to propose the nonlinear space-time model, based on a hybrid of GSTAR, Feed Forward Neural Network (FFNN) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), called GSTAR-NN-PSO. The results show that the proposed model gives a more accurate prediction than the linear space-time model, i.e.
In addition, further research on space-time models based on GSTAR and Neural Network is needed to improve the prediction accuracy, especially the weight matrix in the GSTAR model.
