This book contains general academic rules that must be accepted and observed by all elements of the academic in the Faculty of Humanities Universitas Airlangga. This book specifically contains a short profile of the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Airlangga, and the guide for the implementation of academic activities for Strata 1 (S1) programmes.

History

Each course at the Faculty of Humanities has a course code, which is placed in front of the course name for ease of administration. Academic Calendar Faculty of Humanities is the overall implementation of the learning activities organized in one academic year. The conduct of examinations is adapted to the academic calendar of the Faculty of Humanities.

Take one (1) Foreign Language course in sequence (for a total of 4 credits) for one of the following Foreign Languages. Research activities as part of the development of knowledge in the Faculty of Humanities cover research in the fields of English language and literature, Indonesian language and literature, historical studies and Japanese studies. These laboratories have 110 stands and are provided for all the study programs in the Faculty of Humanities.

The library of the Faculty of Humanities works to support the teaching and learning activities of students and lecturers. Information on employment opportunities for graduates of the Faculty of Humanities can be found at the Student Affairs Department, which is affiliated with the Center for Career Development and Entrepreneurship (PPKK) of Universitas Airlangga. The Faculty of Humanities also provides a cafeteria located at the back of the Faculty of Humanities building area of ​​Universitas Airlangga.

The credit system is a system of providing education linked to the study load of students, the load of the faculty and the load of implementing the program of educational institutions, which is expressed in credit units. This course focuses on ways to greet, accept/decline offers, give feedback, suggest and. This course guides students to write a variety of essay types covering the following discussion topics: 1. This course further explains the types of sentences and clauses in English as well as writing problems e.g.

This course traces the history of English and American literature, and provides a brief explanation of the development of philosophies as a background. This course outlines the historical development and Japanese literary works in translations from English and Indonesian. This course covers the following topics: (1) Introduction to Psycholinguistics; (2) Communication, language, speech; (3) Fundamentals of neurobiology in speech behavior; (4) Speech perception; (5) Verbal and written language comprehension process; (6) Remembering, recalling, storing and retrieving words; (7) Production process of verbal and written language; (8) First and second language acquisition; and (9) Language Impairment.

The course includes lectures on the application of basic concepts of English as foreign language tests in the context of micro skills. This course explores language from the perspective of anthropology (culture); "meaning" for language use. This course focuses on the relationship between language and dialects; types of dialectical studies that cover.

Prerequisite: INTRODUCTION TO LITERARY THEORY (SSE309) . This course provides an explanation of fundamental concepts and the latest theories on literature and culture, covering: 1) Post-structuralism/Post-Modernism, 2) Deconstruction, 3) Queer, 4) Post-colonialism, 5) Eco-criticism , and 6) Sociology of Literature, as well as focusing on how these theoretical perspectives can be used to analyze literary works. This course focuses on: (1) Introduction to First Language Acquisition; (2) Language input; (3) A variety of approaches in language acquisition; (4) Stages in First Language Acquisition; (5) Bilingualism; (6) First language acquisition on children with special needs; (7) Research Methods in First Language Acquisition. The Faculty of Humanities provides sets of traditional musical instruments, including sets of gamelanandkulintang. This facility can be used by Faculty of Humanities academics.

FAST TRACK PROGRAMME

Requirements for Candidates of Fast Track Programme

The candidates are registered as the Students of Undergraduate Program in Indonesian Department, English Department, Japanese Department and History Studies. The candidates have completed the fifth semester with 110 credits and a GPA of ≥ 3.51, and have participated in Community Service. If the candidates exceed the quota (10 students), the candidates will be ranked and selected for acceptance based on the highest GPA and ELPT score.

Candidates selected for the fast-track program will be announced in June/July. Applicants for the accelerated program must graduate from an undergraduate program in no more than 4 years with a GPA of at least 3.51. The GPA of 12 credits in the graduate program taken during the candidates' studies in the undergraduate program (7th and 8th semesters) is not lower than 3.50.

Terms for Fast Track Programme Participants

The Faculty of Humanities at Universitas Airlangga is equipped with a number of facilities to support teaching and learning activities and knowledge development. To facilitate teaching and learning facilities, the Faculty of Humanities has five language laboratories (1st floor: 2 laboratories, 2nd floor: 2 laboratories and 3rd floor: 1 laboratory). The registration application is opened every year in May and the results can be consulted on the website of the Faculty of Humanities.

The Faculty of Humanities of Universitas Airlangga is also equipped with a number of facilities to support soft skills development activities. The theater hall aims to provide a platform to develop theater skills for academics in the Faculty of Humanities at Universitas Airlangga. The Faculty of Humanities of Universitas Airlangga has sets of modern musical instruments which are placed in the studio room.

The Faculty of Humanities has an auditorium called asSiti ParwatiRoom with a capacity of 500 chairs. This facility is located in the Faculty of Humanities building area of ​​Universitas Airlangga near the motorcycle parking lot.

Fields of Studies

The field of Indonesian language and literature includes research on contemporary and modern Indonesian literary works, foreign literary works that have been translated into Indonesian, children's and youth literary works, and comics observed from the perspective of sociological, semiotic, reception, deconstructionist theories relevant to current situation. Indonesian language research covers issues in linguistic fields such as sociolinguistics, ethnolinguistics, psycholinguistics, applied linguistics, dialectology, morphology, syntax and discourse. The philological direction is also based on the number of unexplored old scripts.

The area of ​​English language and literature covers research into English literary works and language phenomena about English as a teaching medium. Research in English literature is conducted through a variety of approaches and theoretical perspectives, including structuralism, semiotics, intertextuality, psychology, deconstruction, reception and feminism. The language course covers aspects of phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, sociolinguistics, ethnolinguistics, psycholinguistics, applied linguistics, dialectology, lexicography and discourse.

The field of history studies covers research on historical events in Indonesia and the world, as well as studies on historical artifacts, including histories of urban development, revolutionary, maritime, economic, Indonesian culture, social and agrarian history, archives, museums, etc. . The field of Japanese studies covers not only research in the field of Japanese language and literature, but also general aspects of studies that focus on Japan, including Japanese philosophy, politics, sociology, history, and culture.

Association, Muslim Students' Association and others, which are centered in the student center at the rear of the Universitas Airlangga Faculty of Humanities building area. In addition, there is an entrepreneurial cafeteria managed by students who are members of Kopmib (Entrepreneurial Community of the Faculty of Humanities), located on the west side of the Faculty of Humanities building area. Therefore, the Faculty extends the parking lot into an unused plot for postgraduate students, which is then used to become a parking lot with a bridge as access to that area, and ultimately the plot supports an accommodation for motorcycles of students of the Faculty of Humanities.

Further, this unit is also served for the third party who wants to cooperate in the field of Research and Community Service related to the East Javanese culture. The East Javanese Cultural Studies Unit (UK2JT) has established a collaboration with the provincial and city and regency governments, as well as other related institutions in East Java in the fields of East Javanese Cultural Research and Art Mapping. The Research Publication and Documentation Unit (UP2D) facilitates the research of lecturers (with a team of students) in the Faculty of Humanities in the form of research competition grants funded by POPA of the Faculty of Humanities or by other Supporting Units.

Mozaik Tydskrif serves as a publication of scientific articles that meet the requirements to be published in Mozaik Tydskrif. For students who wish to process their student affairs needs covering: Scholarship application, proof of enrollment letter, consent letter for activities and other matters, they will be served by operational staff in the Division of Student Affairs (Student Affairs Office 106).
