The research aimed to investigate the use of the Quizizz application to improve students' reading comprehension. The final research focus in investigating the use of the Quizizz application to improve students' reading comprehension. Reading is one of the most important skills in language learning besides listening, speaking and writing.
The Concepts of Reading Comprehension 1. Definition of Reading Comprehension
You can focus on one or two salient features that convey something about the person's character. At this level, the teacher can ask students to find information and ideas that are explicitly stated in the text. In line with the above view, Burns argues that literal understanding is understanding obtained by reading what is directly in the reading text.
Critical reading is evaluating the material, comparing the ideas discovered in the material to known standards, and drawing conclusions about the appropriate accuracy and timelines. Application Quizizz is an online assessment tool as a fun multiplayer classroom activity that allows all students to practice together with their computer, smartphone and I Pad. According to Samet Bal (2018), quizizz is web-based learning that greatly affects the learning process among foreign language teachers.
It is much less competitive than Kahoot and students can actually see the question on the device. It's a great way to implement BYOD and takes the stress out of having students see a leaderboard (unless you want them to see it). It's also very easy to create your own quizzes by building on others' public quizzes.
First, Quizizz is a free tool that allows teachers to quickly turn introductory and review activities into fun multiplayer activities for students.

Population and sample
The population of this research is in the tenth grade of SMA NEGERI 1 Pangkep, which consists of 11 grades and 282 students. This research used cluster random sampling in the tenth grade of SMA NEGERI1Pangkep. The sample of this research randomly selected 1st grade students from all grades. Class X MIA 1 consists of 22 students.

The result of the students' improvement in reading through the use of descriptive multiple choice text is presented in the table below. The table shows the students' improvement in finding literal (Main Idea) in reading as a result of calculating the students pre-test and post-test in terms of content and organization using descriptive text. The students' reading score on understanding vocabulary in the pre-test (63.63) is lower than the post-test (80.00).
Based on table 4.2, it can be seen that the average score of the pre-test and post-test was 53.63 and 79.09 for literal understanding (main idea). In interpretative comprehension (vocabulary comprehension), the average score of the pretest was 63.63, and the average score of the posttest was 80.00. This section presented students' reading comprehension outcomes such as main idea and vocabulary comprehension.
Based on the table above, it appears that the students improved during the post-test: 4 (11.8%) students were excellent and 14 (63.6) students were very good. Concerning the hypothesis in this study, H0 states that there is no significant difference in the reading comprehension of students before and after treatment with reading materials by using quizizz application in descriptive text of tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Pangkep in the academic years 2020/2021. It means that there was a significant difference between the pre-test and the post-test result in reading comprehension.
Based on the result, he concluded that there was an improvement in students' reading comprehension in literal and interpretive comprehension using the Quizizz application.
Discussion
The purpose of this research was to use the Quizizz application to improve their literal and interpretive reading comprehension based on one text, descriptive text. Referring to the comparison text between pre-test and post-test of the pre-experimental class. It can be concluded that the students' score between pre-test and post-test has a difference.
At the time of the pre-test, the students had a lot of difficulty answering the pre-test questions. Because more students underline the vocabulary, they do not know the meaning. At the time of the treatment, for the text description, the students knew more vocabulary in the text and they were very easy to read especially for the vocabulary they knew before in the text description. This indicates that the percentage of reading ability is included in the category for descriptive text, and for post-test students answer questions correctly and underline the vocabulary they do not know in descriptive text. By the result of pre-test and post-test, the result of t-test value of level significant (p) = 0.05 with degree of freedom in Literal (main idea) (df) = 21; in interpretive (conclusion) (df) = 21.
It means that the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted because there is a difference in the significant mean score of the test given by the researcher using the Quizizz application during the reading lesson. From the above discussion, it can be concluded that using the Quizizz application is one of the teaching media that can improve the reading comprehension of tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Pangkep. Based on the discussion presented in the previous chapter, the next conclusion was that it can be concluded that using the Quizizz application can improve students' reading skills, especially when reading descriptive text in the tenth grade of SMANegeri1Pangkep.
This was evidenced by the improvement in students' average scores from pre-test to post-test.
