Give your opinion about; What is the role of pharmacists in saving human life? Make your opinion minimum 5 sentences in a paragraph
ANSWER:
Generally, people identify health workers with doctors or nurses, two professions that are considered as the front line in health services. In fact, pharmacists with their competence in the field of pharmaceutical supply (drugs, medicinal ingredients, and traditional medicines) are no less important in improving public health status and saving patients' lives. Pharmacists don't only serve prescription drugs. In pharmacies, health centers and hospitals, pharmacists do not only serve prescriptions and dispense medicines. Pharmacists also conduct history tracking of drug use, evaluation of drug use, monitoring of drug therapy, drug information services, and counselling. All of this is done to ensure the quality of the drugs that will be given to patients.
If the drug is good, it will give the desired therapeutic effect more quickly and can cure the patient.
In addition to providing direct services to patients, pharmacists also play a role in managing drugs and medical devices. Without pharmacists engaged in management, health services will be affected due to a shortage of drug stocks, or drug stocks piling up so they expire. Pharmacists who participate in the research of new drugs also save human lives. The presence of new drugs will give new hope for many people affected by diseases that are difficult to cure. For example, in the manufacture of the Covid-19 vaccine, pharmaceutical staff must be involved in developing the vaccine product.
