This study aimed to know students' perception of using Google Classroom in distance learning. This research chose descriptive research that uses quantitative and qualitative analysis to analyze students' perceptions of the use of Google Classroom in distance education. The researcher took 30 students as a research sample for the questionnaire and 7 students for the interview by stratified random sampling. The result of questionnaire data showed that students at SMA Negeri 9 Makassar indicated a positive response from the students on the use of Google Classroom in distance learning.

Persepsi siswa terhadap dampak penggunaan Google Classroom sebesar 60% dan persepsi siswa terhadap motivasi penggunaan Google Classroom sebesar 56,7% semuanya berkategori baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi siswa terhadap penggunaan Google Classroom dalam pembelajaran jarak jauh. Penelitian ini memilih penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan analisis kuantitatif dan kualitatif untuk menganalisis persepsi siswa terhadap penggunaan Google Classroom dalam pembelajaran jarak jauh.

Hasil data angket menunjukkan bahwa siswa SMA Negeri 9 Makassar menunjukkan respon siswa yang positif terhadap penggunaan Google Classroom dalam pembelajaran jarak jauh. Persepsi siswa terhadap pengaruh penggunaan Google Classroom sebesar 60% dan persepsi siswa terhadap motivasi penggunaan Google Classroom sebesar 56,7% yang semuanya berada pada kategori baik.

Distance learning using Google Classroom as a mobile learning platform is included in asynchronous learning. Distance learning using Google Classroom as a mobile learning platform gives a fairly good idea of ​​the overall positive reactions of students. What do students think about using Google Classroom as a mobile platform for distance learning?.

What are the challenges faced by students of SMA Negeri 9 Makassar on using Google Classroom as a mobile learning platform in distance education. The purpose of the research is to find out the students' perceptions about the use of Google Classroom as a mobile learning platform in distance education. In terms of application, this research provided information to students on how to use Google Classroom as a learning platform in distance education.

For researchers, the findings of this study can contribute to knowledge and serve as a reference for future researchers to further investigate student perceptions of using Google Classroom as a mobile learning platform in distance learning. The researcher focused on the impact and motivation of using Google Classroom as a mobile learning platform in distance learning.

REVIEW OF LITERATURE

Previous of Related Research Findings

In this section, the student's perception of using Google Classroom in distance learning as a learning platform is described. The formula is used to know the percentages of students' perceptions of using Google Classroom in distance learning. Then, it was found that students give positive perceptions about the use of Google Classroom in distance learning.

The students gave a positive impression of the impact and motivation of using Google Classroom in the distance learning categories. The students agreed that Google Classroom is appropriate as a mobile learning platform for distance learning. This questionnaire is designed to find out students' perceptions of using Google Classroom in distance learning.

I feel that Google Classroom as a learning platform did not help my learning performance in distance education. In the future, I do not want to use Google Classroom as a learning platform in distance education.

Conceptual Framework

The conceptual framework was how the theory related to the many aspects that were recognized as research problems. The conceptual framework described how Google Classroom is one of the platforms used to support distance learning. In this pandemic era, Google Classroom is widely used as a medium in learning process, especially in distance education.

The researcher used questionnaires and interviews as tools to collect descriptions and explanations from students about the use of Google Classroom, in particular how the teacher presents learning content and facilitates the learning process by using Google Classroom. The researcher then expressed the student's perception of using Google Classroom as a learning platform and the challenges the students faced in using Google Classroom as a learning platform in distance learning.

FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION

Findings

Based on the problem statement, the objectives of this research were to know the perceptions of students on using Google Classroom in distance learning, especially the students of SMA Negeri 9 Makassar on the use of Google Classroom application as a learning platform in distance learning. This point described the findings of student's perceptions on Using Google Classroom in distance learning as a learning platform in SMA Negeri 9 Makassar. The researcher used the questionnaire, the questionnaire statements were subcategorized into two groups, which are 10 items the impact of using Google Classroom and 10 items the motivation of using Google Classroom.

The findings show that the students chose agree because the Google Classroom application as a learning platform that helps in the learning process in distance learning. Findings show that students chose agree because students liked using Google Classroom as a learning platform in distance learning and then Google Classroom app as a very supportive learning platform in distance learning. It could be seen that out of 30 students had positive perceptions of using google classroom in distance learning.

Regarding the positive statements, the result of the questionnaire showed that the majority of students chose the option of agreeing, so it has the highest percentages, especially the Google Classroom application as a learning platform that helps students learn remotely. The result of the interview revealed that the challenges faced by XI MIA 4 (Science) students in using Google classroom in distance learning. The challenge the student faced was that the students did not understand the material.

The students almost answered that they did not understand the material and the task. Based on the results of interviews, some students gave positive answers because Google Classroom was basically designed to help teachers and students communicate and collaborate, manage paperless assignments or an online system to keep the learning process organized. Students have to move to other places to access information, especially about assignment submission in distance learning.

Conclusion

The findings showed that among the 20 items in the questionnaire, strongly agree and agree have the highest percentage of positive statements. The result of the interview showed that the challenges faced by the students of SMA Negeri 9 Makassar in using Google Classroom as a mobile learning platform in distance learning were the student did not understand the material due to the teacher's lack of explanation about the learning process, then the quality of the network was bad, they have to move to another area to find a better network, and the last challenge was that Google Classroom is a bug if it hasn't been updated, and then they only get twice the internet quota program. The first challenge was influenced by the way the teacher presented the learning content and functions of Google Classroom as a facilitation in the learning process.

Then, the second challenge was one of the common challenges faced by Google Classroom users.
