Dear Dr. Sc. Akhmad Sabarudin, Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry,
Chemistry Department, Brawijaya University, Indonesia
Subject- Submission of Manuscript
Please find attached a manuscript entitled ‘‘Inhibitory Effect of Some Methylxanthines on Copper Corrosion in 1M HNO3: Experimental, DFT and QSPR Studies’’ written by TIGORI Mougo André, KOUYATÉ Amadou at Jean Lorougnon Guédé University, Daloa, (Côte d’Ivoire) and KOUAKOU Victorien at Félix Houphouët Boigny University (Côte d’Ivoire) for consideration to publish in Journal of Pure and Applied Chemistry Research. The manuscript is an original work, not under consideration by any other journal and it is prepared with the intent to publish in Journal of Pure and Applied Chemistry Research. The work was carried out mainly at university of Daloa and at university of Félix Houphouët Boigny.
In this manuscript, mass loss measurements and by two theoretical approaches:
Density Functional Theory (DFT) and Quantitative Structure Property Relationship (QSPR.) Quantum chemical calculations based on DFT, were used to study the inhibition properties of three Methylxanthines on Copper Corrosion in 1M HNO3. The objective of this work is the search for non-toxic and eco-friendly organic inhibitors and the involvement of theoretical calculations in this research,in order to establish a correlation between the quantum chemical parameters and the experimental inhibition efficiency.
We noted that several works devoted to the corrosion inhibition of metals have been published in Journal of Pure and Applied Chemistry Research. Therefore, we believe that through your journal, this paper will be of interest to a wide audience, particularly those interested in new theoretical methods based on quantum chemical.
All the authors have read and approved this version of the paper and it has not been published nor submitted for publication elsewhere.
Thank you for receiving our manuscript and considering it for review
