This means that material is another source of student in learning besides the teacher and it can be references for the teachers in delivering the lessons to the students as well as textbook is one of the form of material in English language teaching. Where the book is a general book and is used by high school equivalents, the researcher therefore wants to analyze what is the speaking material in the English textbook and what is the speaking material that students need to improve their speaking skills. Based on these reasons, the researchers decided to conduct a study with the title “An Analysis of students'. needs of speaking material in English textbook for the Tenth Grade of SMKN 4 Wajo in the 2019/2020 Academic Year”.

Dalam penelitian ini peneliti membatasi bidang penelitian hanya untuk mengetahui materi berbicara apa saja yang terdapat dalam buku teks bahasa inggris dan materi berbicara apa saja yang diperlukan siswa untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicaranya, dimana peneliti menggunakan kuisioner sebagai teknik pengumpulan datanya, dan peneliti akan menganalisis buku berjudul “Bahasa Inggris untuk Kelas X SMA/MA/SMK/MAK yang diterbitkan oleh Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan dan ditulis oleh Utami Widiati, Zuliati Rohmah dan Furaidah”.

Concept of the English Textbook

With the existence of English textbook, the teaching and learning process will be more focused. Cahyaningrum (2013) In the practice of teaching English as a foreign language, a textbook is one of the most important tools, especially for a language teacher. The content of the textbook should be clearly written so that students do not get confused when using it.

Textbooks are facilities that support the smooth running of a teaching and learning process, with the existence of textbooks the teacher will be more focused in delivering a lesson.

Concept of the Speaking Materials

The researcher then analyzed the speaking material contained in the English text used by the school. In the second chapter, task 1 and task 2, all the criteria for good speaking material are present. The speaking material needed for students is seen from the design of speaking materials according to Bailey, K.

Based on the statement “I like to speak material that is easy to understand”. . of the thirty respondents, the result indicates that 20 students or 67% of students strongly agree, 8 or 27% students agree with the statement, and 2 or 6% students whose answer is undecided. Based on the statement “I like to speak material that is easy to say”. of the thirty respondents, the result indicates that 23 students or 77% of the students strongly agree, 7 or 23% students agree with the statement. The following result shows that of 30 students based on the statement “I like to speak material that is productive for learning”.

The following result shows that of 30 students based on the statement “I like to speak material that is creative learning”. The following result shows that of the 30 students based on the statement “I like to speak material that makes learning fun”. Of the students who strongly agree, 6 to 20% agreed with the statement. The following result shows that of 30 students based on the statement “I like to speak material that is easy to say”.

The next result reveals that out of 30 students based on the statement "I like speaking material which activities involve me directly". So it can be concluded that the speaking material in the book has met the needs of students in SMKN 4 WAJO schools.

Data Source

Secondary data is data that is published or used by organizations and is not processed (Siregar, 2013). In this research, which becomes a secondary source of data, books, literature, articles, magazines, as well as websites on the Internet are related to the conducted research.

Instrument of Data Collection

The options in the questionnaire consisted of 5 options, namely: Strongly agree, Agree, Not sure, Disagree and Strongly disagree. In this case, the questionnaire was used to obtain information about the students' needs related to speaking material from the point of view of designing speaking material and good speaking criteria at tenth grade in SMKN 4 WAJO. Observation is data collection activities by conducting direct research into the state of the research environment that supports research activities, so that a complete description of the state of the object of research is obtained (Siregar, 2013).

This is done in order to obtain data on the physical object of the student's needs related to learning to speak in school. Literature review is a data collection technique that is carried out by reading, studying and studying books, literature, journals, references and others related to the problem under study. Updates mean that they are related to the novelty of the applied theory or reference.

In this study, researchers used a literature search to identify the spoken material in English textbooks used by SMKN4WAJO schools.

Data Collection Procedures

Based on the figure above, the speaking material in Chapter I, the first and second tasks have three criteria for good speaking material. And the activities are fun because they are related to the tourist attractions they visited. e) Speaking material in the fifth chapter. It is therefore possible to accustom students to speaking communicatively, which is criterion number 3. g) Speaking material In the seventh chapter.

Based on the statement "I like to speak material that has a good linguistic structure". Out of thirty respondents, the result shows 19 students or 63% of students who fully agree, 8 or 27% of students agree with the statement, 10 or 6% of students who answered undecided. The other result reveals that out of 30 students based on the statement “I like to speak material that can motivate and stimulate my curiosity”. The following result shows that out of 30 students based on the statement "I like to speak material related to linguistics". of students who strongly agree, 12 or 40% students agreed with the statement, 5 or 16% students who answered undecided, there were 1 or 4% students who answered disagree.

Design content of speaking material in English texts used by SMKN 4 WAJO schools based on the rules of good speaking material design according to Bailey, K. M (2005) Speaking material contained in texts of English has an average of two to three speaking materials in each chapter. Based on the analysis of the data collected through a questionnaire, it was found that most of the students agreed with the speaking material with good speaking criteria according to Thornbury Scott, in M.

While the speaking material in the "English Language" textbook used by schools covers all four aspects of the criteria for good speaking material. Furthermore, based on the results of the student questionnaires, it can be concluded that the speaking material in the textbooks is in accordance with the needs of the students.

This is the result of the analysis of the speech material in the textbook "Bahasa Inggris" published by Kementrian Pendidikan dan kebudayaan. This material can optimize the potential of students by giving their opinions according to the rules of design of speaking material under number three. And the last thing in the rules for speaking material is that the English material must contain linguistic and communicative competence.

The results of the analysis of students' answers from the questionnaire showed that in Aspect one which consisted of three statements, most students really needed designed speaking material which was easy to understand, easy to remember and had a good language structure in terms of skills and content. In Aspect three which consists of two statements The results of the analysis of student responses from the questionnaire show that most students really need the design of speaking material that is easy to develop, as well as speaking material that can be actualized and discussed in relation to speaks material design in terms of optimizing student potential from conscious and unconscious advice. The results of the analysis of student responses from the questionnaire show that in Aspect four which consists of three statements, most students really need the design of speaking material related to the environment, which discusses about daily life, which is related to life values or moral in terms of teaching speech design related to natural, social and moral realities.

Regarding aspect five, which consists of two statements, the results of the analysis of the students' answers from the survey questionnaire showed that most students really need the formation of speaking material related to linguistics and speech material that can be pronounced in terms of the formation of learning to speak, related to language competence and communication skills. The results of the analysis of the student responses from the survey questionnaire showed that most students in Aspect Six, which consists of two statements, really needed criteria for speaking material that has clear instructions for each activity, as well as .. type of topic, genre, and conditions were well informed in terms of criteria good speaking material in terms of instructions. In aspect seven, which consists of two assertions. The results of the analysis of student answers from the survey questionnaire showed that most students really need speech criteria that work in pairs and group work, and speech materials whose activities are learning while playing in the sense of good. criteria of speech material in terms of interactivity.

Then, in the textbooks used by SMKN, we can see 4 WAJO schools, based on the results of researchers' analysis showing that the speaking material in the book meets the five aspects of speaking material design according to Bailey, K. In addition is there one type of the spoken material is considered sufficiently communicative, it is about tourist resorts. It is clear that the speaking material in the book meets the criteria of good speaking material where students need more conversation practice.

Speaking material whose activities are challenging such as short questions and answers, short dialogues, etc.
