I also thank my brothers and sisters, Zikra, Azkia, Aqil and Naurah, who always support me to finish my studies as soon as possible. They also helped me a lot in recognizing more knowledge for the continuity of this task.

Finally, due to shortcomings of this study, suggestions and comments are meaningful to reduce its weakness and improve the quality of the writing. They also cannot focus on what they read during the reading activity and still find it difficult to get the ideas of the text. This research aims to know if there is an improvement in students' reading comprehension of retelling text in the first grade of MAS Aliyah Darul U'lum using the suggestopedia method.

The sample of this study consists of X IPS students from MAS Aliyah Darul U'lum Banda Aceh with a total of 32 students. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an improvement in students' understanding of reading comprehension by using the suggestopedia method.

Therefore, the researcher uses the suggestopedia method in this study, which we expect will be able to overcome the various problems of the students in reading comprehension. Suggestopedia, developed by the Bulgarian psychotherapist Georgi Lazanov, is one of the suitable methods for teaching reading comprehension, as the suggestopedia method emphasizes a relaxing and stimulating learning atmosphere. Ariesita (2016) entitled “Improving Students' Reading Comprehension By Using Suggestopedia Method”. The purpose of this research is to determine whether the use of the suggestopedia method can improve students' reading comprehension and student engagement.

The result showed that Suggestopedia method could improve reading comprehension on SMPN 2 Bangorejo in the academic year. Therefore, this study was designed to find out more about “Using Suggestopedia Method in Teaching Reading Comprehension in Secondary School in Banda Aceh.”. Based on the background of the above research, the research question of this study is: “Does the use of the Suggestopedia method improve the teaching of reading comprehension in middle school in Banda Aceh?”.

In accordance with the above problem question, the purpose of this study is: “To explore the use of Suggestopedia method in improving the teaching of reading comprehension in middle school in Banda Aceh”. This study is about teaching reading comprehension to X IPS 2 students in Madrasah Aliyah Darul U'lum Banda Aceh in the academic year 2021/2022.

The sample is part of the source of data information which is the main subject of research. The researcher conducted a descriptive analysis of the pretest and posttest scores for the class using the SPSS version 26 program. This chapter discussed about the finding of the research related to the use of suggestopedia method in the teaching of reading comprehension at Madrasah Aliyah Darul U'lum.

Below is the explanation regarding the findings and discussion of the study, as well as the analysis of the test. After obtaining the pre-test and post-test scores in the experimental class, the first step was to describe the results of the pre-test, post-test and N-Gain of the experimental class. After obtaining the N-Gain criteria result from each student, the researcher conducted the N-Gain effectiveness result below.

The table shows that the result of the significant level (sig) 2- (tailed 000), which is lower than the significant result of 0.05, indicates that the alternative hypothesis (𝐻𝑎) is accepted. In terms of test scores, the Suggetopedia method generated meaningful progress for students in improving their reading comprehension. This was proven by the significant difference in the result before and after using the suggestopedia method.

In line with this result, the study by Safitri & Novita (2020) states that the use of the. After researching the use of suggestopedia method in teaching reading comprehension, the researcher would like to conclude that the implementation of suggestopedia method among the first year students of MAS Aliyah Darul U'lum Banda Aceh in teaching recount texts generates meaningful progress in improving students' reading comprehension of recount text. This is in line with the theory of constructivism, which states that students will find easier way to understand the concept of a lesson if the teaching learning process is interesting and "learning is most effective when it is fun." As it is, one of the attractions of suggestion is the use of music as a background for the teaching and learning process (Tobroni and Mustofa, 2011). This meant that there is a significant difference in the result before and after using the suggestopedia method. This is due to the students' interest in reading, while at the same time they have music as a background for the teaching and learning process.
