Jongyeonggak, the first library, is established.

The reopening of Sungkyunkwan College.

Over 40% of SKKU’s classes are taught in English. There are also several“English Track” majors comprised of classes taught entirely in English.
There are 7 English Track majors for undergraduates: Global Business (100% English), Global Economics (100% English), Global Biomedical Engineering, Software, Chemical Engineering, Advanced Materials Science & Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. In addition almost all graduate courses in Science, Technology, Engineering, Medicine, and Pharmacy are English Track.
Special Curriculum for International Freshmen (Undergraduate)
International freshmen have the opportunity during their first year of study to participate in special educational programs designed to enhance their knowledge and understanding about the Korean language as well as the nation’s history, culture, economics, and more. These programs are intended to improve students’ understanding of Korea and contribute to the success of their studies and future careers.
Korean Language Program (Undergraduate/Graduate)
The first step towards success in Korea is learning the country’s native language. SKKU provides various opportunities to improve students’Korean language proficiency such as special Korean courses after class and a fee subsidy for TOPIK tests. Various levels of special Korean courses are offered which students can utilize to improve their Korean language skills as well as make academic
achievements.
International Student Scholarship
(Undergraduate/Graduate)
SKKU offers various exclusive scholarship programs for exemplary international students to focus on their studies free of financial burdens.Undergraduate students can receive a 30~70% reduction of their tuition based on their GPA from the previous semester.
Graduate students can have a 30%
reduction of their tuition based on their GPA or 100% of their tuition waived. They can also receive a stipend if they are studying a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) field and show outstanding scholastic
performance and potential in research.
Interchange Programs with Other Students

SKKU offers various events and programs to help international students make friends from Korean and all the rest of the world. As freshmen, students can receive assistance from their buddy through the “Global Buddy Program”.SKKU also supports international student activities such as cultural experience programs and foreign student unions. Students can share memorable experiences through international food booths, sports events, and the Korean rice cake making event.
In addition, foreign students’ religious activities are also supported.

Eligibility

• International students whose parents are both foreign nationals. (Non-Korean nationality)
• Applicants with foreign/Korean citizenship and have completed entire educational courses (elementary, junior high, high school, and university) outside of Korea

For Science, Technology, Engineering, Medicine and Pharmacy Fields, SKKU teaches most of classes in English. For those field applicants, only English Language proficiency is needed such as sores above TOEFL iBT 71 or IELTS 5.5.
4. STEM Scholarship of Graduate School
(STEM: Science, Tech., Engineering, Medicine and Pharmacy)
※Must be recommended by a professor at SKKU and must meet SKKU scholarship regulations
- Up to 100% of the tuition fee can be provided as a scholarship depending on the result of the applicant’s scholarship evaluation conducted by the
department(college).
- STEM Scholarship student can get at least 600,000KRW for monthly living-expenses and amount of scholarship for flight fare (round)
