Supplemental Digital Content - Appendix 1: Search strategy
We searched Medline, Embase Classic + Embase, CINAHL, and CENTRAL. The MEDLINE and EMBASE search strategies retrieved citations containing exploded terms and keywords for heart arrest, hypothermia, computed tomography, brainstem reflexes, Glasgow Coma Scale, blinking reflex, corneal reflex, evoked potentials, epilepsies, and neurological manifestations. We performed two separate and independent search strategies. We modified the search terms for other databases where necessary. We also screened reference lists of all retrieved articles and review articles to identify additional studies. We did not consider conference abstracts or unpublished data. The full text of any citation considered potentially relevant was retrieved. There were no language restrictions.
