Every effort has been made in the design of the controller to ensure the safety of the user, but the following precautions must be followed: - .. i) Service personnel must be suitably qualified in working with equipment containing hazardous voltage. ii) Ensure correct installation. Safety may be compromised if the installation of the product is not performed as specified in this manual. iii) Isolate the controller from the mains supply before opening the unit. IV). Disconnecting or removing other equipment must not compromise the integrity of the installation's earthing system. vii).

The main cable connector on the back of the controller must be held in position (by wrapping, etc.). This will prevent the high voltage cables on the back of the controller from touching the SELV (Safe Extra Low Voltage) connections, in the unlikely event that the terminals come loose. This product complies with the requirement of 89/336/EEC as amended by 92/31/EEC on the adaptation of laws of the member states regarding Electromagnetic Compatibility, by complying with the standards of.

Mobile phones and mobile radios can cause interference if used within approx. one meter from the product or its cables. 1 Insert the screwdriver into the clips of the clamps 2 Turn the screwdriver 2.5.1 Insert the instrument 2.5.2 Installation attachment 2.5.3 Clamps removal.

The functionality associated with each of the outputs is defined during the configuration of the instrument, index L (see section 4.1).

Outputs OP1, OP2 and OP3 can only be used as alarm outputs if they are not configured as control outputs. When using SX25 controllers to directly drive VMD electric actuators, damage to the controller's internal relays can occur due to switching of the relatively heavy electrical loads. Auxiliary relays should therefore always be installed between the regulator and the valve drive actuator.

This protects the controller from switching the actuator's high current loads, avoids introducing high current loops in the vicinity of the controller, and provides an easily replaceable switching element outside the controller. SX25-mA for pressure control: Use of a 4-20mA pressure transmitter and a control valve with 4-20mA electric or electropneumatic positioner. The configuration code consists of 4 digits that identify the operating characteristic of the controller, as selected by the user.

The configuration code can be displayed on the front panel, following the instructions on page 22 section 5.2.2. When the controller is turned on for the first time, the screen displays the following message. Enter the first ILMN code, using the up and down arrow keys, then press the enter key.

The controller will remain in standby mode until the configuration code is set correctly (see section 5.6 page 36).

This display is not shown when the instrument is configured as an On-Off controller. In any case, the value change stops when it reaches the max/min limit set for the parameter. In case of change of set point:. press or once to display the local setpoint instead of the working setpoint.

Continuously pressing or will display further reminders at a rate of one reminder every 0.5 seconds. When manual mode is active, the Setpoint display shows the output value, which can be changed by. If no key is pressed for 30 seconds, the controller will automatically switch back to operator mode.

After selecting the parameter or code, press and to display or modify the value (see page 24) The value is entered when the next parameter is selected, by pressing the key. 1] This will not appear if the controller is configured with alarm 2 disabled or if the sensor break type is selected.

Valve Travel Time This parameter specifies the width of the deadband between the Cool and Heat channels. The loop break alarm will detect faults in the input and output circuitry of the controller. The soft start function is a warm-up phase after the controller is first powered on.

This will help actuator life by reducing the number of actuator starts. Using a PID control algorithm, the controller can handle two different outputs, one performing the Heat action, the other the Cool action. When there is an overlap, the displayed output OUT shows the sum of the heating and cooling outputs.

The configuration of the controller is specified through a 4-digit code that defines the type of input, control output and alarms. The new entered value is saved in the controller when the next parameter is selected by pressing . If the code is changed from 33 and the operator forgets the code, he will be locked out of the controller.

This indicates that the controller is not configured (the controller will not function without being configured). If the display at power-up does not show the above, but instead shows the operator mode (process variable and setpoint), it means that the controller is already configured. Press the Enter key to review the data you have entered or press the scroll key to exit the configuration menu.

Press the enter key to save the entered value and move to the next parameter. When the last parameter has been entered, press the enter key to save this value. The display will show: PASS Press the scroll key again and the display will return to normal operation mode.

Use the Enter key to review the data you have entered, or press the Scroll key to exit the configuration menu.

Automatic tuning

The new calculated PID values are stored in the controller menu, under Adaptive Selection (see page 28). If Adaptive is off, new PID values will be lost If power fails during Adaptive Tuning, PID values will be lost. When turned on, adaptive tuning starts automatically and will recalculate the PID values.

It is particularly suitable for process control whose control characteristics vary with time or are not linear with respect to set point values. It works by continuously sampling the process response to various process disturbances, determining the frequency and amplitude of the signals.
