The effectiveness of peer teaching method to improve the students' speaking skill (A quasi-experimental research of tenth grade students of SMA AL-BAHRA Kampungberu Kab. Jeneponto in the academic year 2017/2018). The aim of the research was to find out the effectiveness of peer teaching method to improve the students' speaking skill in the tenth grade students of SMA AL-BAHRA Kampungberu academic year 2018/2019. The experimental class was taught with peer teaching method, and the controlled class was taught with role play.

Kesimpulannya, metode tutor sebaya dapat digunakan secara efektif untuk mengajarkan kompetensi berbicara siswa kelas sepuluh SMA AL-BAHRA Kampungberu Kab. Kesimpulannya, metode tutor sebaya efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara siswa kelas sepuluh di SMA AL-BAHRA Kecamatan Kampungberu. One of the methods that the teacher can use in the speaking class to improve the students' speaking skills is peer teaching method. Peer teaching method will help students to work together in a small group. Rahmasari (2017) mentions that peer teaching is a technique where the students play the role of a tutor and a tutee.

In this study, the researcher uses peer tutoring techniques that can be applied to reading instruction. The researcher states that the peer tutoring method can significantly improve students' reading comprehension by using a certain procedure. Implementing peer tutoring in teaching reading comprehension has some advantages and disadvantages.

The advantages of using peer tutoring in teaching reading comprehension such as: (1) peer tutoring can help students understand the material better. Based on previous studies, the researcher was interested in proving the effectiveness of the peer tutoring method in improving students' speaking skills in English. Based on the above background, the researcher states the problem of the study as follows: the use of peer tutoring methods is effective in improving students' speaking skills in English.

The purpose of this research is to find out whether the peer tutoring method is effective in improving students' speaking competence in English. To be useful and useful reference or motivation for students in increasing their knowledge, especially in relation to the use of peer teaching method. This research is limited to teaching students in terms of speaking skills using peer tutoring method focusing on students' accuracy and language range.

Serap conducts research on the impact of the peer mentoring method on the success of university students, course. He stated that using the peer tutoring method in the speech course at Erzincan University is an effective method that can be used in the development of speaking skills. Based on previous research, the researcher is interested in proving the effectiveness of the peer mentoring method in improving students' speaking competence.

HO : There is no significant difference between the mean pre-test and post-test scores of students' speaking achievement using peer tutoring. HI: There is a significant difference between the mean score of students' pre- and post-test speaking achievement after treatment with peer tutoring.

The researcher used the Classwide Peer Tutoring method to teach the students always following the procedures of the learning material. The first thing the researcher did was to introduce the students to what the peer tutoring method was. The test was used to determine whether students' speaking competence improved with the peer tutoring method.

It was intended to compare whether the test scores of students from the experimental and control groups were significantly different. Using the t-test formula, the researcher calculated the post-test score of the students from the experimental and control group. Students' grades in pre-test and post-test .. test Post-test Pre-test Post-test.

Therefore, the use of peer tutoring method is effective in improving the students' accuracy in pre-test and post-test. Hence the use of peer. tutoring method effective to improve the students' language range in pre- and post-test. Therefore, the use of role playing method is effective to improve the students accuracy in pre and post test.

Test result analysis data was conducted to test the hypothesis. The peer tutoring method improves students' speaking skills more than students who learn through the role-playing method. The improvement of students' speaking skills in terms of accuracy and language range. The purpose of this study was to use the peer tutoring method to improve their speaking skills and it was expected that the peer tutoring method would improve the students' speaking skills.

It can be concluded that the students' score between pre-test and post-test had different meaning. The result showed that the students' speaking skills improved, especially in terms of accuracy and language range after applying the peer tutoring method in an experimental classroom. Moreover, the result of the pre-test in the experimental classroom showed that the students' accuracy and language range were improved during the pre-test and post-test after the treatment.

So it can be concluded that the use of the peer tutoring method in the experimental class improved the students' speaking ability. Then the statement that had been stated in the previous results of the research about using the peer tutoring method could effectively improve students' speaking ability, the same with the result of this research.

Pre-test

The teacher starts the learning process by talking about describing the place for the students and connecting to the topic of the learning process, such as descriptive text. Post-test

A normality test was performed to check whether the data was in a normal distribution or not. Enter 'Pre/Post_Test_Score' as the dependent list and 'Class' as the factors list. The purpose of the homogeneity test is to know whether the data is homogeneous or not.

If the level of significance was less than 0.05 (sig. <0.05), it meant that the data were not homogeneous. If the level of significance was greater than 0.05 (sig. >0.05), it meant that the data were homogeneous.
