FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION

Discussion

The researcher found grammatical cohesion based on the analyzed frequency of all types of grammatical cohesion by Haliday and Hasan theory, they are references, substitution, ellipsis and conjunction. The most grammatical conjunction used by students is reference with 557 times used, the second is juxtaposition with 221 times used, the third is substitution with 28 times used, and the last is ellipsis with 1 times used. It can be concluded from the percentages of cohesion above, because the grammatical cohesion that is dominant is References.

And the students should understand the grammar consistency when writing text to improve English writing and give all the ideas they want to write.
