TIAA Open Educational Session
Chris Dabroski, a financial consultant with TIAA will be on campus this Friday, May 31, 2019 delivering an educational session Money at Work: 1 Foundations of Investing. The session will focus on
understanding the role of investing, protecting against various risks, augmenting traditional savings programs to help accelerate retirement savings, the products and the tools available to manage a growing portfolio. Please join us from 11:00-12:00 in Nevins Theater for this educational session, open to all faculty and staff.

ENI Open Educational Sessions
On Friday, May 31, 2019, Skye Tolendini with ENI will be on campus offering two educational sessions.
The sessions will be held in Nevins Theater as follows, and are open to all faculty and staff:
Self-Management: Making the Most of Your Time. Topics discussed in this session include: dispelling
the myth about time management, identifying your personal 'time wasters', how to create S.M.A.R.T goals, tools for organizing, prioritizing, analyzing and managing your time. The session objective is to learn how to improve your self-management skills at work and home to make better use of this precious commodity we call Time. This session will take place from 1:00-1:45 in Nevins Theater, Powell Campus Center.
Improving Communication: How to Make Yourself Understood. Topics discussed include the Communication System, identifying personal communication filters, non-verbal communication, overcoming barriers to effective communication, The Art of Listening. The session objective is to learn the secrets you need to be a powerful, confident communicator when it matters most to you and your career. This session will take place from 2:00-2:45 in Nevins Theater, Powell Campus Center.

Summer Hours 2019
The University will henceforth observe a summer work schedule beginning the Monday following commencement and concluding the second Friday in August. For this year, summer hours will begin on Monday, May 20 and will continue through Friday, August 9.
While most University employees will be working according to the Administrative Office hours, some department schedules may vary. Please speak with your supervisor for your department's schedule.
Administrative Office Hours: 8:00 am - 3:30 pm (with a half hour lunch) Maintenance, Grounds and Custodial: No schedule change
Additional Information:
-On the door of your office, please post summer office hours
-Please change your voice mail message to indicate your specific summer hours, as may be appropriate
-Any questions regarding payroll/timesheets, please contact the Payroll Department

Music Lessons
The Department of Music at Alfred University offers a variety of music lessons for Voice, Guitar, Piano, Drums, Percussion, Strings, Brass, and Woodwinds.
There are beginning lessons which are 30 minutes a week and only $300 a semester. And there are advanced lessons, 60 minutes a week and $600 a semester. Cost for lessons can be added to your tuition.

Self Service Password Reset
ITS is happy to announce the general availability of Self-Service Password Reset. This feature will allow users to reset their own passwords without needing to rely on ITS staff to assist when they forget their password, or their password expires. Starting on June 5th, when you log into your email you will be prompted to set up Self-Service Password Reset. You can skip it if you don't want to set it up then, but you will be prompted to set it up every time you log into webmail until you do. If you do not use webmail and you would like to set up SSPR, please visit aka.ms/ssprsetup and follow the instructions there. Please call the help desk at (607)871-2222 with any questions.

Wednesday - Friday 6/5 - 6/7 and Wednesday - Friday 6/12- 6/14 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm and 3:30 -5:30 pm
We will open Monday - Friday (same hours) starting June 17.
