Candidates must satisfy the following conditions:
1,1. Candidates must be either Master graduates of
the
KoSASA member universities, or faculty andstaff
members ofthe
KoSASA member universities with an appropriate Master's degree.1.2. Candidates must meet
the
normal selection criteria for entryto
a UNSW PhDprogram/ including academic performance and English language requirements.

PhD program in any academic fieldat

Candidates must be residentat
UNSW duringtheir
study. However, candidates admitted intothe
PhD programat
UNSW on ajoint
research project may undertake part oftheir
PhD research attheir
home university for a maximumof
12 months, intotal,
after commencement oftheir
PhD candidature. For ajoint
research project, astaff member of
the
home university may be appointed as ajoint,
or secondary,supervisor.
The management ofthe
PhD candidature and thesis examination will foliow UNSW policies andprocedures.
PhD theses can be submitted three years after commencement offull-time
studies.3.

3.1 The duration of scholarship
will
be normally for three years after enrollment.3.2 Candidates recommended by
the
KoSASA partner universities may applyforTuition
Fee Scholarships (TFS) and International Research
Scholarships.
Successful applicants would be offered a 3-yearTFS and a research scholarship providing a stipend for a maximum of 3 years, subjectto
Satisfactory progress review.3,3. The stipend rate
for 2014is
AUD 26,592 per annum andwill
be indexedannually. In
addition, a one-off establishment scholarship of AUD 1,000 and the first week of accommodationwill
be providedto
commencing PhD studentsat
UNSW Canberra,4.

will
be processed in three steps:the
nomination of candidates and submission of Expression ofInterest
(EoI) bythe
KoSASAuniversity
to
UNSW Canberra; the pre-selection of candidates by UNSW Canberra and notification of successful candidates; and the formal application for admission and schola rsh ips.4.1.2
Candidates should submitthe
EOI forthe
pre-selection to the selection coordinator ofthe
home university listed at the end of this document.4.1.3
Successful candidates fromthe
pre-selection roundwill
submit a formal applicationto
UNSW. UNSW will guarantee the admission and scholarships for the successfulca ndidates.

Pre-Selection Procedure4.2.1The
pre-selection processwill
bejointly
managed by UNSW andthe
KoSASA member universities,4.2.2.
Candidates should submit an Expression of Interest (EoI)to
the selection coordinator ofthe
home university consisting of:(1)
1 page CV (educational qualificationswith
GPA, TOEFL/IELTS results, job experience, research experience, research output);(2)
Academic transcripts from previous studies; and(3)
and a research proPosal:n.b. For humanities & business, research proposals should be in the
form
normallyexpected.
For engineering and science, however, candidates could simply nominate an area of research or pick out a project from our listof
