Characters.

Like Cynopterus butwithoutcalcar

and

externaltail; inci- sors

more

developed than in

any

of the related genera, theseriesofthe lower jaw formingfour conspicuousserrations

when

viewed from in front, those of theu]iper

jaw

with sharp-edged

crown

well differentiated from shaft

and

providedwitha large

main

cusp near middle.

Remarks.—

Thisgenus wasincludedinThoopterus

by

Matschie*butitis readilydistinguishaljle

by

the small (normal) cheek-teeth, theabsenceof thecalcar

and

external tail,

and

the verypeculiar,trenchant formof the incisors.
