Perception

  • Definition of Perception
  • Factors Influencing Perception
  • Types of Perception
  • Process of Perception

According to Erin and Maharani (2018), perception is a psychological process in which people can transform responses into positive or negative perceptions depending on their experiences with the five senses. Further, Saifuddin (2020) mentioned that perception is a process that begins with the use of the five senses to receive a stimulus, then it is structured and processed, so it can grasp the perceived. According to Arfin, Kuswadi, and Kuswarn (2017), perception is the inference of information from experience and the interpretation of signals to describe things, relationships, or events.

Meanwhile, Desmita (2009) says that perception is the process of applying previously received information to obtain the sensory system. Hong (2003) states that perception is a person's impression of something that is determined by how they act towards using it, whether or not they agree with the technique or material they have learned. Positive perception is an individual's assessment of anything or information with a positive perspective or in accordance with what is predicted by the thing perceived or by established rules.

Negative perception is an individual's negative impression of a particular object or information, which goes against what is normal or expected of him according to prevailing norms. Negative perception results from three factors: first, the individual's ignorance, second, their lack of experience with the perceived object, and third, their dissatisfaction with the object that is the basis of their perception. Positive and negative perception is described by the way individuals characterize all their information about a perceived thing.

The best goals are achieved by using the human and natural resources available to practice the learning process. In conclusion, it can be known that the function and principle of learning media is to help students achieve their learning objectives.

With reference to the explanation above, it was concluded that various types of learning media, especially both visual and non-visual technology are used in teaching and learning process. Review of Previous Study

Design of the Study

The research design is a coordinated, specified and thorough strategy for how to collect, process and evaluate data. As stated by Adrew Kirumbi (2018), research design is a set of procedures and processes for the collection and analysis of data on the variables indicated in the expenditure statement. Sugiyono (2013) mentions that the descriptive research was done to assess the value of an independent variable, whether it is one or more, without comparison or relationship with other variables.

Descriptive research is a study undertaken to identify variables, whether the variable was one or even many, without comparison or relationship with other variables.

Subject of the Study

  • Population of the Study
  • Sample of the Study

Survey sampling is the process of selecting a group of respondents from a large population who are representative of the entire sample.

Data of the Study

  • Variable of Study
  • Types of Data

No interview bias because respondents answer the question on their own terms. According to Sugiyono (2015), a survey instrument is a measurement tool used by researchers to collect data for a study, such as questionnaires, tests, interview guides, and observation guides. Content validity is the act of analyzing the content of questionnaire items to see if they represented the entire theoretical construct of the proposed model of the problem under consideration.

Data collection techniques are seen as crucial to the effectiveness of the study. For the example from the 11th statement, most of the answers strongly - disagree and disagree, which reflects that they thought that TikTok is easy to use. This chapter consists of the conclusion of what was discussed in the previous chapter and suggestions for the teacher and students.

Technique for Collecting Data

In a survey, the quantitative data is measurable numerical data that researchers could collect by proposing multiple choice questions or closed questions through polls, surveys, questionnaires and other approaches (Houston, 2023). The data collection technique in this study used open-ended closed questions that were presented in the Google form. Hasa (2016) mentions that open question is a question that could be answered with a long answer.

Open-ended questions are typically asked with the goal of learning the respondent's ideas or opinions. Meanwhile, a closed question is a question that has a short answer in a single word or phrase.
