STUDENT AFFAIRS
GENERAL INFORMA TION
During the four years of undergraduate education at Vanderbilt, the student will gain an understanding of the fundamentals of medical science necessary for the pursuit of any medical career, as well as a respect for the physician's responsibility to society. Students bear a high level of responsibility for participation in the curriculum in an effort to develop the sense of commitment to continued scholarship necessary to keep pace with the rapid advances in medical knowledge. The College of Arcs and Science and the Graduate School of Vanderbilt offer courses that supplement the medical curriculum, especially during the senior year.
MEDICAL CENTER BUILDINGS
Laboratory and clinical facilities are closely coordinated to allow a seamless flow of ideas between medical science laboratories and departments and clinics. Nashville Metropolitan General Hospital with 2.40 beds and outpatients is another branch of the School of Medicine. The collection now contains most of the material needed for research in any medical discipline.
STUDENT AFFAIRS HONORCODE
It contains complete files of important journals, both in English and foreign languages. Funds for the purchase of this collection have come primarily from gifts from Library patrons. Through the facilities of the University Common Libraries system, which contains more than one million volumes, students have ready access to publications in other fields.
VANDERBILT SOCIETY OF HISTORICAL MEDICINE

- The University operates the Student Health Service and Infirmary for students with mild illnesses. For major illnesses, students are admitted
At times when the Student Health Service is staffed, students may receive medical attention at the Emergency Service at Vanderbilt University Hospital. Inquiries regarding on-campus housing for women should be directed to the Office of the Assistant Dean of Women, 4II1 Branscomb Quadrangle. Students who engage the board before the semester must apply to the Director of Food Services.
2.4 ~ VANDBRBILT UNIVBRSITY
Until the semester, students can board the Rand for roughly 15 percent less than daily cash fares for meals. The Divinity School Dining Hall serves meals, with cash, to professional and graduate students, faculty and staff.
EXPENSES AND FINANCIAL AID
Students desiring more specific information about financial resources at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine should write to Dr. This fund is to be used as a revolving loan fund for students in the School of Medicine.
