1. Course name : VETERNARY FORENSIC

2. Course Code : KUH401

4. Semester : VII - odd

5. Programs / Study Program : Veterinary Medicine (Undergraduate)

6. Prerequisites : General Pathology, Pathology Systemic,Veterinary legislation 7. Description of Course : In this course students will acquire the following knowledge:

the pathological and criminological theories behind domestic violence and animal abuse, understanding of Veterinary Forensics and its differences between human forensics and veterinary Forensic Medicine, the legal aspects of abusive situations (penal code and other act/law regarding crime agains an animal in Indonesia, judicial terms and processes), and the theories behind communication about domestic violence and animal abuse. They will also learn the following skills: how to recognize and address animal cruelty in practice (determination of cause of death, mechanism of death, manner of death, time of death and also post mortem interval) in poultry, domestic animal and also wild animal corpse and remains, crime scene investigation (CSI), how to act after suspicion, how to collect evidence properly, how to report suspected animal abuse and domestic violence correctly, and how to act as an expert witness in legal settlement.

12. Learning Outcomes : LO 7 : Generate diagnose of physiological, abnormalities, metabolic and symptomatic diseases on animals to define diseases correctly

13. Achievement of Learning Subjects : After completing this program, the candidates expected to understand veterinary forensic and can act as expert in legal settlement regarding animal abuse and neglect.

14. Sub Learning Outcomes:

1. After attending this lecture, students are expected to follow lecture contract and also understand basic of veterinary forensic science and their differences with human forensics and understand other branches of forensic science.

2. After attending this lecture students are expected to understand, the regulations regarding veterinary forensic in the world and in Indonesia and the role of veterinarians in related law enforcement with veterinary forensics.

3. After attending this lecture students can know and understand the procedures for managing crime scenes, Understanding the types of evidence from macro and micro crime scenes, how to preserve an evidence and present it during the process of investigation, investigation and prosecution in court

4. After attending this lecture students can know and understand the necropsy procedures for forensic purposes, know the difference with necropsy for clinical, judicial and

research purposesUnderstand The principles of tissue processing, tissue processing procedures according to routine methods and also Interpretation of tissue (histopathology)

5. After attending this lecture students can explain Several necropsy techniques based on animal classes

7. After attending this lecture students can explain about forensic pathology determination on animal carcass or remains.

8. After following this course the student can explain Post mortem changes, the kinds of death and to estimate the time of death based on post mortem changes

9. After following this course the student can explain post mortem changes due to lack of oxygen (hypoxia)

10. After following this course the student can explain Branch of forensic toxicology, pathogenesis of intoxication by a variety of different drug compounds, administration of the sample collection in case of poisoning.

11. After following this course the student can explain Various forms of the lession and cause of bruises, as well as to estimate the time of the incident based on histopathology appearance.
