All of our gratitude goes to Almighty God because of His blessed, Biotropika: Journal of Tropical Biology publishes scientific writing which are the results of research from academics in Indonesia. In this edition, Biotropika: Journal of Tropical Biology presents various research. One of the articles presented in English give an overview about the ethnobotanical study of plant in historical-religious tourism area and the sacred place at Sumenep, Madura.
The contents of this edition begins with the molluscs diversity in Pasir Putih beach, South Lampung was dominated by Cerithiidae family. The Shannon-Wiener Molluscs index on the Pasir Putih beach was included in the low category. Identification of mudskipper species in Surabaya dan Sidoarjo beach was found four species from three different locations and identified as Boleophthalmus boddarti, Periopthalmus novemradiatus, Periopthalmus mallacensis, and Periophthalmodon septemradiatus. Exploration of plant in ethnobotany perspective is interesting to study of plants diversity and socio-cultural value associated with local wisdom. Totally 31 plant species were found in study sites, covering cultivated and socio-cultural plants that was related to role of the location where they took place.
Ethnobotany study of plant also was reported in the Hindu community of Jagaraga village, West Lombok regency, West Nusa Tenggara. Exploration of antibiotic-producing microbes was found four isolates of actinomycetes ACB34a, ACB44c, ACB54c and ACB55c. The research results shown that the four isolates have similarities to the character of different genus, which were Actinomadura, Nocardia, Streptomyces and Actinomadura, respectively based on phenotypic characteristics and the similarity index using Clad97. In other study, human activities on coastal waters at Spermonde archipelago, Makassar, South Sulawesi had an impact on organic matter pollution and increased the diversity of macroalga and subsequently reduced the diversity of Echinoderms. Moreover, the study of antibacterial activity of galangal oil nano-emulsion can be used as a candidate for the treatment of gastric infections caused by Helicobacer pylori.
The publication of this edition is also a hard work and the attention of many parties, therefore the Editorial team thank the reviewers who willing to provide inputs and criticisms for improving the writing quality. The members of the editors who have spent their time to let this issue can be published properly. May the articles in this journal can be beneficial to the readers and be a reference for future studies.
Regards, Editorial Team

Hormat kami, Dewan redaksi
