Youtube As a Learning Media for Writing Narrative … | 203 on YouTube rather than on television.
According to survey data conducted by Omnicom Media Group, a Hearts & Science institution, and reported by AdAge, 47% of respondents aged between 22 to 45 years prefer to watch streaming videos on YouTube, according to a Kompasiana source (03 January 2022). However, this doesn't mean that they don't watch television, they do if there is something they are looking forward to. One of the advantages of YouTube is being able to watch a film or rerun that is no longer being shown on television and being able to watch content from several creators, however, YouTube also has the disadvantage of having some content with negative value.
According to Awaru (2017), society is currently dealing with the rapid advancement of information technology. This can be seen from the increasing use of gadgets and the growth in the number of consumers of internet services every year. The evolution of information technology has followed the trajectory of scientific progress. Of course this can be used to help teaching and learning activities. One of the benefits of using this medium is that it is always available anywhere. YouTube is one of the supporting media for online learning that can describe effective learning methods and resources. This learning media has a difference with other learning media because in practice it will take up a little time due to producing a better learning that is shown like a video.
On the other hand, the teacher's role in learning is not only asking students to write and assess writing, but also having to guide students in the process of writing and learning.
The actions that must be taken to fulfill this process require supporting learning media such as audio-visual. Of course, the teaching materials used must be different so that they can help students develop their creativity, experience and knowledge, for example through YouTube.
Youtube has benefits as a media, according to Mangole et al. (2017: 7) in Yusra D, et al (2020:18), including the ability to view and upload videos that we like, as a platform for promotion, the ability to download videos, the ability to learn to stream, many useful videos, some of which are HD, and the variety and abundance of videos
Teachers can choose from a variety of teaching resources, including narrative texts, in this youtube-based medium to help students learn Indonesian. One of the KD contained in the 2013 Curriculum for Indonesian Language lessons is KD 4.2 Presenting creative ideas in the form of imaginary stories orally and in writing with attention to structure, use of language, or oral aspects.
Writing is one of the language skills, by writing one can express ideas, thoughts, ideas, and feelings. Writing skills are also very influential and important for students, because not all students can write well. Writing according to Delina (2019: 5) is the process of expressing thoughts, information, or feelings of readers through language symbols in a clear and useful way.
Dalman (2015: 106) says that narrative text is a story that seeks to create, tell, and string human actions into an event or human experience from time to time in which there are also characters who will face a conflict that has been arranged systematically. .
According to Nurhayati (in Nur Ahsin, 2016: 2) says that narrative text is a work or essay in which there are various aspects of a series of stories that form meaning. A reader of narrative stories is mostly inspired by the nature or everyday life of the characters he reads.
Writing narratives can also be based on experience.
In general, narrative texts have six characteristics, namely (1) in the form of stories about events or human experiences; (2) the events or events conveyed can be in the form of events or incidents that actually happened, can also be in the form of imagination, or a combination of both; (3) based on conflict because without conflict narrative texts are

and (6) usually have dialogue.
Based on previous research on the thesis compiled by Kiki, the use of YouTube media by playing videos of reading folk poetry is expected to attract students' interest in appreciating poetry. Therefore, to find out the student learning process in narrative text material, the researcher asked one of the students to read a narrative text, then the other students listened, then worked on the questions according to the contents of the narrative text they had read, but there were some students who lacked understand or get confused when the narrative text is read, one of the contributing factors is because the narrative text is too long, causing students to become unfocused.
This cause also occurs because teachers are still less creative in choosing learning media. Next, the researcher tested the use of YouTube media as a learning medium by showing a narrative story video, some of the students could easily understand when asked about the elements or structure of the narrative text being shown. Therefore, based on the background that has been described, the researcher is interested in conducting research with the title "Youtube as a Learning Media for Writing Narrative Texts at Muhammadiyah 1 Middle School, Jambi City".

Discussion
From the results of the research above using YouTube as a learning medium for writing narrative text material in class VII SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Jambi City, it has been carried out by completing the final task of writing a narrative text (imagination) whose theme is in accordance with what has been determined at the previous meeting.
In determining a task, the teacher first makes a learning implementation plan (RPP) for KD 4.2. Presenting creative ideas in the form of imaginary stories orally and in writing taking into account the structure of language use, or oral aspects, and indicators of achieving competence are divided into 3, namely GPA 4.2 .1 Formulate a narrative text storyline development framework with examples. GPA 4.2.2 Writing narrative text with the help of examples by paying attention to the structure of the text and using the rules for using sentences/punctuation/spelling correctly. GPA 4.2.3 Edit narrative text according to sentence/punctuation/spelling correctly. In the KD and IPK narrative texts, the teacher uses a project-based learning model, in which there is an outcome or written work from students.
There were 3 meetings held, namely Tuesday, Thursday and Tuesday. At the first meeting, the teacher explained about formulating a framework for developing narrative text storylines with examples. At the second meeting, the teacher explained writing narrative texts with the help of examples by paying attention to the structure of the text and using the rules for using sentences/punctuation/spelling correctly.
