UK research is international
• 47% of all doctoral students in the UK come from outside the UK
• 72% of researchers in the UK were internationally mobile between 1996-2012
• 48% of publications from the UK are produced with international collaborations
• Internationally collaborative research is more highly cited
• Mobile researchers are more productive

What is the Newton Fund?
• The Newton Fund is a £735 million fund operated by the UK's Department of Business, Energy, Industrial and Skills
• It will run until 2020
• There will be approximately £2 million per year for Indonesia
“Through the Newton Fund, the UK will use its strength in research and innovation to promote the economic development and social welfare of partner countries. By working together on bi-lateral and multi-lateral programmes with a research and innovation focus, the UK will build strong, sustainable, systemic relationships with partner countries.”

The programme will provide small-scale seed funding to:
