ABSTRACT
Dewi Shahnaz Nahata. 171230056. 2022. An Analysis of Students’ Speaking Skill in Gender Lens (Qualitative Research at 11th Grade in SMA Negeri 1 Cikande)
This research aimed to analyze the speaking skills of male and female students in SMA Negeri 1 Cikande based on genderlect. This research used descriptive qualitative method with purposive sampling to identify male and female students speaking skill. In collecting the data, the research used score documentation from teacher, speaking performance test, and interview to identify the male and female ability in English speaking skill, especially in the five aspects of speaking component: pronunciation, grammar, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary. The result shows that female students are better than male students in speaking skill. The result shows female students are better in aspects of pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension than male students. Meanwhile, in terms of fluency, male and female students have equal abilities.
In conclusion, there a significant different between male and female in speaking skills.

A BRIEF BIOGRAPHY
The writer is Dewi Shahnaz Nahata, born in Ciamis, July 02nd 2000. The author's address is at Cikande Permai Block A4 No. 29 RT 001 RW 001 Cikande Permai Village, Cikande District, Serang Regency, Banten Province. The writer is the first child from three siblings.
The level of formal education taken by SDN Cikande Permai in 2011, SMPN 2 Cikande graduated in 2014, SMAN 1 Cikande graduated in 2017. Then the author continued to college at the Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin State Islamic University Banten taking the Department of English Education at the Education and Teacher Training Faculty.
During his time as a student at the college, the author was active in the Kesatuan Aksi Mahasiswa Muslim Indonesia (KAMMI) Komisariat Al-Bantani as a head of department economy in 2020. This is the curriculum vitae that the author has lived while taking the Higher Education level at the Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin State Islamic University, Banten, Faculty of Education and Teacher Training, Department of English Education.
