Minutes of the SOth meeting of Central Sub-Committee on Crop Standards, -Notification and Release of Varieties for Agricultural Grops hetd on 1OthAugust,2O1B under the Ghairmanship of Dr. Anand Kumar Singh, Deputy Director General (Crop Sciences), ICAR, in Committee Room No.1 (ICAR), Krishi Bhavan, New Delhi-110001

.Member Secretary, Central Sub-Committee on Crop Standards, Notification
andRelease of Varieties for Agricultural Crops welcomed the Chairman and members of the
b Sub-Committee including ipecial invitees present in the meeting. The Chairman also welcomed all the participants and highlighted the importance of this meeting and urged to give their input in decision making in release and notification of improved varieties of
crops.To expedite the process of release and notification and to avoid the huge wastage of stationary, the committee decided to make the process of submission of proposals of varietal release and notification online and Member Secretary was advised to expedite the matter in DAC&FW for development of online portal for submission of proposals for release and notification of new crop varieties and a link should be given in Seednet. Once the portal
is made operational, all the contributing ICAR lnstitutes/State Agricultural Universities should be advised to submit their proposals online and only five hard copies should be sent
to the Member-Secretary of the Sub-Committee with one copy to concerned Project Director/Coordinator which is mandatory for considering the proposals by the committee. lt was also decided that the submission of on-line proposals for release and notification should be implemented from January, 2019. Member-Secretary of the Sub-Committee ensured for making all efforts for development of online portal with the help of NlC. With the permission of Chairman, the following agenda was taken up for deliberations

Member Secretary informed that the information and clarification for proposals
deferred in the various previous meetings for want of certain information
likeAcknowledgement certificate of submission of seed sample with NBPGR, detailed
morphological characters of varieties, AICRP data on disease and pests reaction, source of
material and pedigree, package of practices of the cultivar, DNA fingerprinting
profile,photographs on glossy sheet etc. have been received from the concerned Sponsoring
lnstitutions/Breeders and the Sub-Committee approved the notification of the varieties
listedin Table No. 1. One proposal of Chickpea cultivar CSJ-S15 will be considered in a separate
meeting as decided
