Sky was partly cloudy to cloudy with moderate rainfall of

20.0mm. Maximum temperatures ranged between 26.7-

31.3°C and minimum ranged between 15.5-19.7°C. Mean relative humidity was 81-89% in morning and 56-80% in evening. Wind speed varied between 1.0-2.9 kmph.

There is possibility of light to moderate rain in the next five days. Sky may be partly to generally cloudy with a maximum and minimum temperature of 25-26°C & 17- 18°C respectively. The expected relative humidity will be 89-93% (maximum) & 45-58% (minimum). Wind direction will be 109-136Degree at a speed of 2-4 kmph during the next five days.

preparation/sowing  Start preparing raised nursery bed of size 10m (length)

× 1.25m (width) × 10cm (height) with 30cm wide channel between the two seed beds.

 Apply cow dung or compost@10-15kg/seed bedplus a starter dose of urea 80g, SSP 225g, MOP 40g per seed

 Collect seed of HYV like Shahsarang -1, Lampnah, IR 64,bed.

Ranjit, RCPL 1-412, RCPL 1-410, RCPL 1-411 & local varieties like Mendri, Manipuri, etc.

 650-1000g seed is required for each bed. (Nursery area of 500-600 sqm. is sufficient for transplanting of 1ha).

1st ploughing of main field should be done now as moisture is available.

Seed treatment  Before sowing seeds should be treated with Bavistin 50WP@ 2g/l or Mancozeb 2.5g/l with water for 24hr to protect from fungal infestation.

Boro paddy Grain filling/

Maturity stage

 Drain out water from rice field in case of crops starting maturity.

Direct seeded Ahu Tillering  1/3rdN dose (Urea 43.3 kg), and all P, K (375 Kg SSP &

67 kg MOP) should be applied at the time of sowing.

Thrips

 Farmers should keep vigilance against the attack of thrips and spray insecticide like Chloropyriphos @ 2ml/lit of water if moderate to high intensity is observed.

Blast

 If blast spot are seen, apply Mencozeb @ 2g/litre or Carbendezime @1g/l. Spraying should be done in sunny weather and it should be withheld if rainfall is predicted in the coming days.

Rice Gundhi bug/Stem borer

 Spray Malathion 5% dust @ 6.25kg/ha for Rice Gandhi bug and Chloropyriphos @0.02% or Monocrotophos @ 0.04% for stem borer.

Jhum Rice Tillering  Bhalum 1, 2, 3; IRAT 109, IR 50 rice are in early tillering stage.

Vegetative stage

 High yielding varieties like Vivek QPM-9, HQPM-1 Vijay Composite, DA-61A, RCM-75, 76. are in vegetative stage.

 Do earthing up to prevent lodging due to high wind speed.

 Mulching with locally available materials like straw, grasses should done to reduce evaporation loses.

 For early planted crop do weeding, top dressing of urea @ 44kg/ha for HYV and 33Kg for local varieties at 30-35 days after germination

Shoot Fly, Cob borer, Stem borer

 If shoot fly incidence occur in maize, apply furandan 3G granules@ 2-3 granule to each whorl of plant.

Groundnut/Soybean Land preparation &

Sowing

 Start sowing of Groundnut & Soybean

 2-3 ploughing should be done followed by laddering.

 Apply 10 – 13 t/ha of FYM or compost by mixing thoroughly in the soil 1 - 2 weeks before sowing.

 Liming should be done if the PH of the soil is less than 5.5 by furrow application of lime @ 500kg/ha before sowing.

 Collect HYV seeds of Groundnut: ICGS 76, JL 24;

Soybean: JS 335, Bragg, Ankur & keep ready for sowing.

 Seed rate: 65-70kg/ha (Groundnut); 50-60kg/ha (Soybean)

 Spacing: 30cm × 10-15cm (Groundnut); 45cm × 10cm (Soybean)

Seed treatment: Thiram or Captaf @ 3g/kg of seed

 Fertilizer dose: 20:60:40 NPK kg/ha. All the fertilizer should be placed in the furrow below the seed and mix well with the soil at the time of sowing.

Ginger & Turmeric Land

preparation/Planting

 Complete sowing of ginger and turmeric.

 Select high yielding varieties like Turmeric: Lakadong, Megha Turmeric-1.

Ginger: Nadia and Jamaica

 Seed rate- Turmeric: 18-20q/ha.

Ginger: 12-15q/ha

 Beds size of 1m width, 15cm height with convenient length.

 Before sowing treat the seed rhizomes with Indofil M -45 or Captaf @ 0.3% (2-3g/l of water for 30 min)

 Sow ginger at a spacing of 25cm x 25-30cm and turmeric at 25cm X 40-45cm.

Brinjal Growing stage  Weeding, top dressing of urea @ 107Kg/ ha followed earthing up may be given.

Bottle gourd Growing  Bottle gourd is at growing stage.

 Mulching with locally available materials like straw, grasses may be done to reduce evaporation loses.

 Support of bamboo structure for climbing upward may be raised for proper growth.

Ash gourd Sowing /Growing  Ash gourd to be planted at plant to plant 3m and row to row 1.5m spacing. Apply 10-15kg FYM/pit of size 60cm x 60cm. Sowing of 2-3 seed may be sown in each pit.

 Support of bamboo structure for climbing upward may be raised for proper growth.

Okra Growing  Sowing of HYV varieties like Pusa A-4, VRO-6, Akra

Anamika may be done.

Chilli Land preparation/  2-3 times deep ploughing.

N.B. 1. Make provision for draining out of excess moisture from vegetable crop fields.

Postpone irrigation, intercultural operation, fertilizer application & plant protection measures if heavy rain is expected.

Suggestion: Contact nearby State Agril. Staff or KVK staff for necessary help and suggestion.

Transplanting  Add FYM @ 10-15 t/ha + half N & full dose of RDF- 100:60:50 kg/ha NPK respectively.

 Transplant 1 month old seedling at a spacing of 45×45cm.

French bean/ Cow pea Land

preparation/Seed sowing

 2-3 times deep ploughing.

 Application of FYM @ 10-15t/ha in lines with RDF- 60:60:40 kg/ha NPK.

 Keep the spacing 30-40 line to line and 15-20 cm plant to plant for pole type.

Khasi Mandarin  Apply fertilizer this month following ring method.

 Look for trunk borer damage. Apply paste of lime, water and 5% Malathion dust on the stems of the plants up to a height of about 1m from the ground.

Plant Protection  Collect white grub beetles and Lepidopteran moths through

light trap and destroy them.

Water Harvesting  Take measures to conserve rain water by used of mulching

materials, digging of ponds, Jalkund, etc

Animal Sciences

Poultry All stages  Avoid dampness, litter should be periodically changed.

 Provide clean and fresh water daily.

 Artificial heating through lighting of electric bulb during night time to protect the poultry birds (day old to 25 days old) from low temperature.

Ranikhet disease  In case of 1 month old poultry birds do vaccination against Ranikhet disease with RDF1 vaccine.

Cattle/Buffalo  Immunization in cattle against Foot & Mouth disease,

Haemorrhagic septicaemia & Black Quarter diseases.

Pig  Pig shed/ stay should keep dry and avoid dampness during

rainy days

 Repair the roof of pig stay to protect from rain.

 All newly born piglets should be vaccinated against Swine fever at the age of 2 months followed by booster and annual dose..

 Provide additional feed ingredients like broken rice wheat bran, broken maize along with kitchen waste, mineral mixture (20g/day).

 Deworming of pig/piglets with Albenoazole (5-10mg/Kg body wt.) should be done.

Fishery

Composite Fish Culture

Pre-stocking management

 Clean up the pond by removing unwanted vegetation, insects, etc.

 Apply Raw Cow Dung (RCD) @ 10,000 kg/ha, 15days before stocking of fingerlings.

 Liming should be done after checking the pH, apply lime

@ 2000kg/ha if the pH is 4.5-5.0 &1200 kg/ha if the pH is 5.0-6.0 after 7 days of RCD application.

preparation/sowing  Start preparing raised nursery bed of size 10m (length) × 1.25m (width) × 10cm (height) with 30cm wide channel between the two seed beds.

 Collect seed of HYV like Shahsarang -1, Lampnah, IR 64, Ranjit, RCPL 1-412, RCPL 1-410, RCPL 1-411 & local varieties like Mendri, Manipuri, etc.

 650-1000g seed is required for each bed. (Nursery area of 500- 600 sqm. is sufficient for transplanting of 1ha).

1st ploughing of main field should be done now as moisture is available.

Seed treatment  Before sowing seeds should be treated with Bavistin 50WP@ 2g/l or Mancozeb 2.5g/l with water for 24hr to protect from fungal infestation.

 Farmers should keep vigilance against the attack of thrips and spray insecticide like Chloropyriphos @ 2ml/lit of water if moderate to high intensity is observed.

Blast

 If blast spot are seen, apply Mencozeb @ 2g/litre or Carbendezime @1g/l. Spraying should be done in sunny weather and it should be withheld if rainfall is predicted in the coming days.

 Spray Malathion 5% dust @ 6.25kg/ha for Rice Gandhi bug and Chloropyriphos @0.02% or Monocrotophos @ 0.04% for stem borer.

 Fertilizer dose: 20:60:40 NPK kg/ha. All the fertilizer should be placed in the furrow below the seed and mix well with the soil at the time of sowing.
