 Full dose of P2O3 & K2O and 1/3rd dose of N as basal. Remaining 1/3rd dose of N at tillering & rest 1/3rd N at panicle initiation.

 Transplant the seedlings at a spacing of 20cm x 15cm. Put 2-3 seedlings/hill.

 Apply FYM 7-10 days before transplanting in the main field.

Maize

High & Mid altitude Region

Cob formation stage  2nd top dressing of urea @ 44kg/ha for HYV and 33Kg for local varieties at 45-60 days after germination.

 Shoot Fly,

Stem borer  Destroy the infested plant parts & stem.

 If shoot fly incidence is severe in maize, than apply Carbofuran 3G granules@ 2-3 granule to each whorl of plant.

Soyabean Sowing  Start sowing of soyabean varieties like JS

335, Bragg, Ankur, Pusa Soubean-1, Local JS 2. Maintain a spacing of 45cm × 10cm &

seed rate of 50-60kg/ha. Apply urea @ 44kg/ha, 375 kg/ha SSP & 67 kg/ha MOP in the furrow below the seed and mix well with the soil at the time of sowing.

 Seed inoculation with Rhizobium: Treat the seed with Rhizobium @ 150g/10kg of seed.

Mix thoroughly the seed with the culture in a bucket/container and dry in shade for 20- 30 mins and sown immediately.

Cucurbits (Bottle Gourd, Ash Gourd

& Pumpkin)

Harvesting  Harvest fruits at 15-20 days after flowering.

Brinjal Harvesting  Harvest the maturing of mature fruit.

 For management of shoot & fruit borer, remove the affected terminal shoot showing boreholes, fruit & destroy. Spray neem Kernal Extract 5% at 15 days interval.

 Burnt the infected fruit & shoots.

Ginger/Turmeric Vegetative stage  Manuring & fertilizer: Apply ½ dose of Urea at 40 DAP.

 Weeding & earthing up operation may be carried out.

Khasi Mandarin Fruit Setting

 Management of fruit drop: Spraying with 2,4-D or GA3 @ 15 (mg/l) +Urea (10 g/l) + Benomyl (1g/l) or spraying of Planofix @ 1ml/5 litres of water minimise the fruit drop.

Nutrient application:

 Apply 650g Urea + 1220g SSP + 450g MOP/tree.

 Spray of Zinc sulphate (0.5%) + Magnesium sulphate (0.2%) + Copper sulphate (0.4%) + Magnese sulphate (0.4%) or Multiplex/Agromin (A mixture micronutrients) @ 0.25% on new flushes.

 To control the scab: spraying of Bavistin @ 1g/l or Blitox @ 2 g/ litre of water.

Animal Sciences

Poultry All stages  Protect poultry houses from extreme wind by

covering with polythene sheets on the sheds.

 Provide vitamin B complex @ 7ml/litre in drinking water daily in broiler for healthy growth.

 Litter should be changed periodically and provide clean drinking water and change the water every day.

 Diseased and dead birds should be immediately removed.

 Regularly inspect the dropings of the poultry birds for any diseases symptom.

Coccidiosis  Provide plenty of fresh and clean drinking water.

 Provide coccidiostatic like Amprolium @ 25-65 mg/kg feed once a day as a preventive measure against coccidiosis.

Ranikhet disease  Vaccinate the poultry birds with F1/ Lasota vaccine (1 drop) at the age of 4-7 days old and 35 days old through eye and nostril.

Piggery All stages  Vaccinate all newly born piglets against

swine fever at the age of 3 months followed

Suggestion: Contact nearby State Agril. Staff or KVK staff for necessary help and suggestion.
