RVCE is an autonomous institution affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi and is rated amongst the top ten self-financing Engineering colleges in the country. RVCE offers 12 Under Graduate Engineering programs, 16 Master Degree programs and Doctoral Studies.

Sprawling campus spread over an area of 16.85 acres (16 acres & 34 guntas) set in sylvan surroundings. Provides an ideal ambience to stimulate the teaching-learning process, helping in bringing out skilled and disciplined Engineers. Utilizes its expertise in various disciplines to conduct Research and Development for Industry and Defense establishments in the country. The institution has established Incubation Centre, Centre of Excellence in Macroelectronics, Computational Genomics, Smart Antenna Systems, LDRA; Centre of Excellence in Internet of Things sponsored by CISCO, RVCE-Mercedes Benz Centre for Automotive Mechatronics, Toyota Kirloskar Motors sponsored automotive workshop, RVBosch Rexroth Centre for Automation. Current annual student intake for Undergraduate Programmes & Post Graduate Programmes in Engineering is in excess of 1200. Highly qualified and dedicated faculty. The students have won awards and accolades in national and international competitions.

Testimonial on Institution Innovation Council

This is testimonial on the Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of RV College of Engineering. The institution innovation council is functioning as the nodal centre to promote innovation on campus, by synergizing the efforts of the various innovation clubs on campus led students to explore ideas and develop prototypes and products. The innovative teams participate in various national and international competition ranging from Super mileage race cars to submarines, Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAV). The institution innovation council provides the most appropriate forum for showcasing the innovative skills of students from various disciplines of engineering / technology both at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. The IIC after its establishment has been able to harness the spirit of innovation among the faculty and students of the institution. The institution has a strong culture of innovation and entrepreneurship over strong several years of its existence.

In my opinion, the IIC created with the purpose of instituting practices of innovation, with the involvement of the faculty and students in line with the guidelines of AICTE-Innovation Council. IIC has performed its strategic role of seeding the process of ideation and innovation with a systematic and scientific orientation.

It is hoped that in years to come the institution innovation council will be further strengthened with the top management of the institution providing the leadership role with creation of more infrastructure such as the Design huddle already created on campus. The institution has already provided ample space, infrastructure, faculty guidance and financial support to the innovative teams and the Entrepreneurship clubs to support the student’s community.

I believe that RV College of Engineering Management, Faculty and Students along with the IIC – Institution Innovation Council has made positive contribution to the efforts at the university, state and national level to improve the ranking of the country in the global innovation index.
