ADVISORY FOR BLOCK: BASAR

Weather summery of the previous week Weather forecast valid up to 17th February 2019 Rainfall: 0.0 mm, Max. T: 21.9oC, Min. T: 8.0oC,

Wind Speed: 4-6 km/h, RH: 47-97%, Wind Direction: Variable

Fair/Partly cloudy with possibility of no rainfall. Daily maximum and minimum temperature for the following period is predicted to be 26-30oC and 12-15oC respectively. Expected morning and evening relative humidity will be 56-80% and 22-35% respectively. Wind direction is mainly NNW with average wind speed range of 3-4 kmph.

Monitor for possible attack of insects/pests

Soil moisture conservation techniques like mulching with crop residue and provide life saving irrigation to the crops recommended

FIELD CROPS

 Regularly harvest mature pods,

 Regular monitoring of the crop against possible attack of blight.

 Provide support to the crop,

Maize Land

preparation

 Procure good quality certified seeds,

 Seed treatment of early maize with Imidichloropid @ 1-2g/10kg is recommended before sowing.

Sowing in the current weather condition is recommended VEGETABLES

Early Kharif vegetables

Sowing  Nursery of early kharif vegetables like Capsicum, tomato &

other vegetables can be done

 Procure seed from certified agencies

 Carry out seed treatment with Thiram/Carbendazim @ 2g/kg seed before sowing

Transplanting of the healthy seedling to main field may be done

Potato Vegetative stage/

harvesting

Immediate harvesting of mature crop recommended

Dry the harvested crop before storage

Do not wash the harvested crop, it may induce spoilage

Store in a cool, well ventilated place

Khasi Mandarin After harvesting/

Citrus aphid/

leaf eating caterpillar

 In case of citrus aphid attack, spray Quinalphos or Dimethoate 0.05 per cent and repeat it after every 7 days

 In case of leaf eating caterpillar, spray Imidachorpid (0.30 ml) or Dimethoate 1.5 ml or Fenitrothion 1ml or Carbaryl 2g in one litre of water.

Precautionary Practices to be followed

Poultry All stages  Vaccination of birds as per the recommended age,

 Avoid dampness, litter should be periodically changed.

 Provide clean and fresh water daily.

 Artificial heating through lighting of electric bulb during night time to protect the poultry birds (day old to 25 days old) from low temperature.

Pig Pigs/ Piglets  The bedding is always dry and that there is plenty.

 If possible wooden sleeping box should be provided.

NA Mostly sunny/Partly cloudy with possibility of no rainfall. Daily maximum and minimum temperature for the following period is predicted to be 28-31oC and 11-14oC respectively. Expected morning and evening relative humidity will be 57-70% and 21-26% respectively. Wind direction is mainly NNW with average wind speed range of 4-5 kmph.
