Work Experience-
• Currently performing asResearch assistant at Calcutta Research Group (CRG) and allocated with two projects, “Social and Political Mapping of Popular Movements, Logistical Vision and Infrastructure of India”, and another project, which is aimed to trace the habitation of Sundarban, their social, economic and health conditions. This research includes market study of Sundarban area and an extensive statistical and economic analysis of data.
• Appointed as an online Academic Subject Expert in Chegg India, with projects, assignments and question answer for students outside India.
• Performed as an intern at Netscribes in Business Research team, technology vertical.
Had been responsible for market research and data driven analysis which included data clearing, clustering, quality control and regression analysis with Advanced Excel.
Educational Profile-
Pursued M.Sc. in Economics with special papers International Trade, Operations Research and Environmental Resourceand have studied Econometrics in the process of degree.
Completed B.Scs. in Economics (Hons) with Mathematics and Statistics as pass papers. Had taken Pure Science in 10+2 level, with the subject combination Physics, Chemistry,
Mathematics and Biology.
Achievements-
Best Paper Award in ECON-VISVA, a national workshop organised by Visva-Bharti University co-associated with UGC, a paper on Employment: The Formal-Informal Trade-off, a model based economic approach verified with data analysis.
Achieved “SangeetVisharad“ dance diploma in Bharatnatyam.
Technical Skill-
• Statistical data analysis with statistical software R, Stata, SPSS and Advanced Excel.
• Possess the knowledge of the Operation Research Analysis software TORA, Microsoft Excel (Solver, VBA Macros)as a part of the special paper of the degree.
• Fully proficient in using M.S Office (basics) and web browsing.
• Pursuing a certificate course on R programming from coursera.com
• A certification on C programming in year 2009.
Major Projects Undertaken-
Performed as a research assistant in a research, title: Natural Resource Conservation and Rural Livelihoods: A study of Community – Based Forest Management in West Bengal, India; under the supervision of Dr.Biswajit Ray, Assistant prof., Department of Economics, University of Calcutta.
A group project on “FDI AND HEALTH SECTOR IN A GENERAL EQILIBRIUM MODEL WITH INTERNATIONAL FRAGMENTATION”, as a part of the University curriculum. It shows the impact of trade in health services and entry of FDI, and how it effect the agricultural and manufacturing sector of a developing country’s economy.
Participated in a Summer Analytics program held at the Economics Dept., University Of Calcutta and presented a case study in “Location Analytics”. Major projects
undertaken here include solving business case studies and presenting them in front of a panel using PPTs and also learning codes of R and MySQL.
A term Paper on ‘ MIGRATION IN INDIA DUE TO EMPLOYMENT CRISIS-BASED ON HARRIS TODARO MODEL’ which included extensive use of Regression analysis, Pie chart, Histogram and Bar Diagram, Time series data and extensive use of M.S Word, Excel and Power Point in year 2014.
