Under the scheme, 2.53 crore soil samples were collected and tested and 10.74 crore Soil Health Cards were distributed to farmers across states in the first cycle (2015-17). Similarly in the second cycle millions of soil samples were collected and tested and 11.83 crore Soil Health Cards were distributed to farmers.
Financial Status
A total of 6954 villages were identified by the States/UTs in which against the target of 22.51 lakh samples, 19.90 lakh samples were collected, 18.11 lakh samples were analyzed and 18.19 lakh cards were distributed to farmers. In order to motivate farmers for regular soil testing and adoption of soil testing recommendations, farmer trainings will be organized in 98515 selected villages by states through Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) / State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) during 2020-21.
