Athletics Point System
The method for point scoring is same as it was in IISM 2017 hosted by IISER Mohali. Briefly summing up, the overall athletics trophy for both men and women is given considering it as a team event like other team events. Top three athletes in each athletic event will be given individual points. Each contingent athlete’s (winner) point will be summed up and contingents will be rewarded final single point.
With introduction of carrom and bronze medals in team event (with at least 8 participating teams) the individual point for gold, silver and bronze medal is slightly different from the previous IISM and is mentioned long-windedly below.

From the table, the mean value of medals for individual performance in athletics:
Gold:
Total points to winners in all events / Total winning players = 10000/168 = 59.5
Silver:
Total points to runner up in all events / Total runner up players = 8000/168 = 47.6
Bronze:
Total points to 2nd runner up in all events / Total 2nd runner up players =4200/117 = 35.9
Considering athletics as a whole team event overall point for each medal is:
Gold:
Total winning player (11 events + 2 relays) * average gold value = (11+8)*59.5 = 1100 Silver:
Total winning player (11 events + 2 relays) * average silver value = (11+8)*47.6 = 900 Bronze:
Total winning player (11 events + 2 relays) * average bronze value = (11+8)*35.9 = 700
