ABSTRACT
Pre-diabetes is a condition between normal and diabetic stage. Pre-diabetes can take a long time to transform finally as diabetes. It has been generally observed that prediabetes will eventually convert to diabetes but, at the same time, there are greater possibilities to revert back to normal, if taken care seriously. The aim of this study is to decrease the risk of type-2 diabetes by reducing the blood sugar level, evidenced by FBG and HbA1c value with Phosphoricum Acidum.
METHODS
This study was undertaken at Sarada Krishna Homoeopathic Medical College Hospital & peripheral centres. 30 patients with a positive family history, physique and sedentary life style and after screening for Pre-diabetes were selected randomly. Fasting blood glucose (FBG) and HbA1c levels were estimated both before and after treatment were analysed and a comparison was made to evaluate the role of Phosphoricum Acidum 30 and Phosphoricum Acidum 200 in prognosis of pre- diabetes. FBG and HbA1c level is estimated after a 3 months period of treatment.
RESULT
Result shows that most of the pre-diabetic patients belong to the age group of 38-43 years of which, women are mostly affected. Out of 30 cases, 26 cases showed improvement in the FBG and HbA1C value.
CONCLUSION
The study shows that both Phosphoricum 30 and 200 is effective to check the progression of pre-diabetes to diabetes when given to the patient based on their susceptibility along with proper diet and regimen.
