Commenced in 2009-2010, The Kalyani Life Institute was established by the initiatives of a group of parents with autistic kids which were later joined by professionally interested people.

As Secretary of Kalyani Life Institute, I deem it my privilege to serve to this community of People’s with Disability as sincerely as possible with all the might at my command. I would do my utmost to make our Board an ideal for others to emulate with the help of modern technology. The Board is already making use of IT and computers and my efforts will be to improve the working of administrative staff. I would leave no stone unturned to better the standard of education and system of evaluation by adopting all the modern techniques in the field of special education.
It would be my priority to make the board a pioneer and specialized institution especially for conducting all types of communications smoothly and fairly in the most transparent manner.

Kalyani Life Institute is incorporated as a Society, registered with the Registrar of Societies West Bengal. The eleven founding members comprising the General Body are persons possessing specialized knowledge and skill sets useful to Civil Society Organizations. With a view to good governance the governing body shall not have two or more blood relatives. The Governing body meets each year when the Annual General Body meeting is convened. The Governing Body shall be guided by the HR policies, Finance Manual and Conflict of Interest policies. A draft of these policies has been presented to them and would be finalized, based on their inputs and suggestions.
Team: In order to execute the strategy of Kalyani Life Institute mentioned earlier the following are the roles that have been identified:
* Partnership management: Identify, maintain and develop the Kalyani Life Institute Support System. It would include expanding the range of support partners as well as facilitating capacity building within these Organizations.
* Communication (online and offline) &
technology: Oversee development and maintenance of corporate website and other online initiatives. This would include developing the branding for Kalyani Life Institute along with developing and maintaining media relations.
* Finance & Administration: Develop, negotiate and implement new strategies, policies and Procedures in the fields of finance and administration including the financing and implementation of programme activities and planning for Kalyani Life Institute.
Roles & Responsibilities of the management team
The President shall be responsible for developing the strategies, setting milestones and drawing up a roadmap for achievement of the organizational objectives’/he shall ensure that all the policies are in place to ensure good governance and for ensuring engaged
employees who would deliver results in the most optimal manner. S/ he shall be the key driver for initiating strategic initiatives .This position shall line manage the Vice President.
The Vice President shall assist the President in her/ his role and take all steps necessary for operationalising the plans. This position shall line manage the Manager – Program &
Partnership.
The Manager – Program and Partnership shall be responsible for design, development, monitoring and management of all program initiatives of the organization and for effectively managing all relationships with various stakeholders to ensure smooth program implementation.
The staffing shall be augmented in the areas of finance, administration, communications, workshop coordination and program management. Kalyani Life Institute is exploring the possibility of creating a support system in the areas of HR, IT and
communication for its partner organization and advisory services to targeted groups of
contributors. While planning additional staffing the option of outsourcing shall be explored, to optimize costs, without compromising on quality and efficiency.

Annual Activities throughout the year 2015-16
The Kalyani Life Institute has crossed its vital six years since its registration on 26.02.2010.
Now it shapes for the persons with disabilities like autism, mentally retarded, cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities along with their families.
This organization only run by the parents of such persons with disabilities as members of executive committee and advisory members bodies are only constituted by the parents of these children and adolescents through its annual
general meeting.
Within the 50 km radius area of Kalyani Municipality Town which include adjuscent part of four distinct districts of West Bengal i.e. Hoogly, North 24 paraganas, Nadia and Burdwan the concept of parent-led society for Autistic, Mentally Retarded, Cerebral Palsy and Multiple Disabilities is unique and thus it gained accelerating popularity, involvement of so called ill-fated families into multifarious social movement in the domain of
disabilities.

The old executive committee of Kalyani Life Institute has seized to be inactivated on 30th day of October, 2015 afternoon.
The newly formed executive committee consisted of twelve members took its chair on first of November, 2015.

Kalyani Life Institute runs its therapy based weekly school at Binoy Badal Dinesh Prathomik Vidyalaya at BBD Pally with two hired room with a verandah on every Saturday and Sunday from 2 PM to 5 PM. Binoy Badal Dinesh Prathomik Vidyalaya, a Government aided Sarba Sikhkha Kendra allows to arrange weekly therapy based special school for Autistic, Cerebral palsy, Mentally Retarded
persons with disabilities in exchange of no charge.
Kalyani Life Institute approached to West Bengal State Electricity Development Corporation, Kalyani Station for completion of electrification of Binoy Badal Dinesh Prathomik with help and goodwill of Rupa Chatterjee, Teacher in Charge of that school.
This Binoy Badal Dinesh Prathomik Vidyalaya got its fan, light with financial support of Village Education Committee, BBD pally.
On a very ill approach Kalyani Municipality has sent a notice to the Secretary of Kalyani Life Institute for evacuation of land, alloted to Kalyani Life Institute in front of the Kalyani Fish Farm in the year of 2013-14 for nine years to build a temporary structure for therapy unit for people with disabilities. But Kalyani Municipality forced to dismantle structures and fencing over the six cottah plot in front of Kalyani Fish Farm beside Kalyani Lake Road.
Executive Committee of Kalyani Life Institute decided to retreat and collected fencing and building materials from Kalyani Municipality in its own custody.
In the month of November Kalyani Life Institute applied for Deen Dayal
Rehabilitation Scheme for the year of 2015- 16 and sent it online and offline to District Magistrate Office, at Krishnanagar. But some unscrupulous staff refused to do the needful and charged some extra
documentation to delay the duty. Newly applied DDRS application could not got its course due to hindrances and cold shoulders of State Government officials.
On 17th January 2016 Kalyani Life Institute organised a BABY'S DAY OUT programme that is annually observed to free our butterflies under open air. A picnic was also arranged on the date simultaneously.
In the month of February, 2016, Kalyani Life Institute has successfully applied for National Trust Registration before the Ministry of Social Justice and
Empowerment, Government of India, New Delhi. The total website of National Trust is fully renovated with ten projects and interactive website . On 23.02.2016 Kalyani Life Institute has got certification from National Trust with five years validity.

On 27th day of March, 2016 Kalyani Life Institute through its highly exigent cabinet meeting at B- 3/88 decided to open Disha and Vikaas center under the scheme of National Trust at Binoy Badal Dinesh Prathomik Vidyalaya and B-4/382, Kalyani, Nadia
respectively.
Disha Center, named as Kalyani Disha has been established with the set up cost released from the National Trust for the babies below ten years with Autism, Mentally Retarded, Cerebral palsy and Multiple disabilities person with disabilities for their early intervention and school readiness.
At the same time Vikaas center is also established in the premises of B-4/382, Kalyani, Nadia with the set up cost rendered through project from National Trust for the day care of adolescents persons with National Trust disabilities above 10 years.
On 1st of July, 2016 Kalyani Life Institute observed the Day's of Doctor by inviting and rendering honour to Dr N K Biswas, Orthopedic Seargon and Dr A K Saha, Pediatrician who also visited with the beneficiaries of Kalyani Life Institute.
Ith the financial year of 2016-17, our institution has successfully applied for Deen Dayal Rehabilitation Scheme and sent it through proper channel to the State Authority after completing District Level enquiry.

years back. Our babies came front and hosted our National Tri-color with beautiful uniform of white dresses with red ribbon.
A memorable interaction TRAINING UNDER RAINING with parents and family members of various disabilities ensued by our competent resourceful person, Mr Joydev Maity. A beautiful presentation of dance with music by our beneficiaries added spendor and made this
memorable. Arrangements of khhichuri, dal, fries and desserts ends our
programs with happy conclusion.

With our deepest condolence we want to remember that person Mr Sajal Roy, our member and father of Swastika Roy, 12 years old girl with mental retardation.
Though Sajal had committed suicide failing to cope up with tremendous mental agony related to his daughter, we again have faced with the bitter fact "What after us".
Kalyani Life Institute has already applied to take legal guardianship under National Trust Act to appropriate authority.
Kalyani Life Institute has also submitted its application to act as Local Level Committee in the district authority of Nadia.

Kalyani Life Institute conducted a Durga Puja Porikroma sponsored by members of Kalyani's B-Block Dakshinanchal Durga Puja committee. The children, accompanied by their parents, were taken on 17 Totos across 30 pandals in Kalyani
and neighbouring Kanchrapara.
Puja organisers greeted the children with gifts and chocolates. They were also treated to a lunch organised by Dakshinanchal Puja committee at their own
pandal.
The pandal hopping for the children began at noon in 17 Totos arranged for the purpose. The children then went around various pandals in Kalyani and Kanchrapara
with a lunch break around 3.30pm. Lunch included khichuri (kedgeree).
