an emblem of the strife towards wisdom
TARU, Sanskrit for tree stands as an emblem for The Gargi College Botanical Society carrying in itself a multitude of imperative tenets and morals, that are the guiding light for the department of Botany. A tree is an entity representing wisdom, and harbouring in itself the potential to grow and to let grow. Our department, inspired by this persona of TARU, also strives for knowledge and wisdom.
TARU- Botanical Society of Gargi college thrives with immense potential for academic proficiency along with being invested in inculcating a deeper sense of morality in its students. The department garners and provides its students with varied opportunities along with being a source of encouragement for students to realise their potential and invest it in the right direction.
Throughout the session, several curricular and co-curricular activities are organized providing a holistic approach to education to all the students. The professors of the department carry out several review papers and research paper projects along with the students providing an insight into the basics of scientific writing and research methodologies. Frequent Webinars, Guest Lectures and Alumni Interaction also provide the much-needed exposure to a wider arena of academics to the students.
Dr. Renu Soni, the Teacher-in-Charge of the department has always been the biggest motivator for the students and the faculty. Dr. Garvita Singh, Dr. Preeti Agarwal, Dr. Pritam Kaur, Dr. Akanksha Madan- the faculty advisors have always guided us through thick and thin. The entire department brims with gratitude towards the teaching body for supporting the students through all their endeavours.
