Laboratories and Facilities
The Department has several well equipped laboratories catering to the needs of not only the CSE students but also students from other departments. Computing & Internet Centre
The web centre has high end servers and is connected by NKN (National Knowledge Network) 1 Gbps Intranet / Internet connectivity via NIC.
Internet connection is available campus wide, through the campus network, to enhance research and teaching activities. The Computing and development centre has high end client systems which are used by staff and students for research and development activities. WiFI connectivity is also being setup for the use of students and staff

CSE Special Groups BlackBerry Group
The Computer Science and Engineering department has an active group which discusses about BlackBerry 10 Application Development. Students from various departments gather twice every week to gain knowledge from each other. In connection with this group, BlackBerry Evangelists conducted a workshop during September 2013 which was completely sponsored by BlackBerry, participants from various institutions gathered to attend the workshop and receive knowledge from the BlackBerry Evangelists.
Connect Cloud Group(C2G)
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering has commenced the Cloud Infrastructure and Services Associate Training program in association with EMC through ICT Academy of Tamilnadu in September 2013.
Web Application Development Group
Web Application Development started with an aim to help students create their own web applications from basics to Advanced. The club members have created an online portal for all its registered members, providing unlimited online storage to showcase their works. The club meets twice every week on Mondays and Tuesdays. The intended goals and objectives of the club supports the University’s mission and shows progress every week. The ultimate purpose of the club is to make the members line up and each team will create a web application on a specific topic with many more easy to do and fun contests.
Students Association
BIOS - National Level Technical Event
The department has formed a student association BIOS (Brilliant Ides of Students) which works for co-curricular and extracurricular activities like Symposium, Seminar, Workshop etc. Every year since 2002 a technical symposium being conducted, this includes various activities like paper presentations, e-corners and other competitions for students.
The symposia had technical talk by industry experts on various topics.
