Instructions related to the submission of Documents
It is hereby notified for the information of all the candidates who have applied for the M.A. Programme- 2020 of the Department that they have to submit legible scanned copies of all of the following documents latest by 10 AM of 11.11.2020 without which their
candidature cannot be considered:
1. HSLC, HS and BA Final Mark sheet and Certificate. Both the sides of the Mark sheets should be scanned if the Original Mark sheets contain two sides. In case BA Final results are not out yet, the copy of the 5th Semester Mark sheet (BA 2nd Year Mark sheet for those from the Annual System) should be provided.
2. Caste Certificate (SC, ST, OBC as the case may be, if applied under these categories);
3. Non-Creamy Layer Certificate for OBC candidates of the Current Financial Year 2020-’21 (if applied under OBC category);
4. EWS Certificate of the Current Financial Year (if applied under EWS category) 5. No Objection Certificate (if employed)
It is important to mention here that due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation, the scanned copy of the documents submitted by the candidates cannot be verified by comparing them with the original documents as of now. However, the candidates will have to produce the originals of the testimonials submitted by them in support of their candidature for verification and confirmation of their admission as and when required by the University.

NB: The candidates must also write their name and application number clearly on the subject line of the email by which they will send their documents.

Instructions Related to the Entrance Test
This is for the information of all candidates who have applied for admission to M.A.
Programmes of the Department of English, Assam University, Silchar that they should meticulously take note of the following points regarding the entrance test for PG admission 2020:
1. The Written Test will be conducted from 11 am to 12 pm on 11th November 2020 in the online mode. The Written Test would be of 25 marks having 5 questions of 5marks each. There will be no MCQs. The word limit for each answer will be 150 words only
2. The Question Paper will be sent to their email IDs at around 10.45 AM on 11th November 2020. The Candidates will have to download the Question Paper and after answering questions, upload their answer script as scanned copies of handwritten answer scripts latest by 12.20 PM of 11/11/2020. They will have to write down the Answers on white or rolled papers and send the Answer Sheets as a single PDF document to the mail id

3. The candidates must write their name and application number clearly on the top of the first page of their answer sheets
4. The candidates must also write their name and application number clearly on the subject line of the email by which they will send their answers

If the candidate’s name is Anindya Sen and his application number is 784583, the subject of his email should read Name: Anindya Sen Application No:

5. Candidates must note that they are to write original answers in their own words.
