Guidelines for preparing Dissertation

Course: Project Phase II (Dissertation) Code: MTIT C 401

The following suggested guidelines must be followed in preparing the Dissertation:

Good quality white paper A4 size should be used for typing and duplication.

Care should be taken to avoid smudging while duplicating the copies.

Project dissertation should not be less than 60 pages and more than 100 pages.

Normal Body Text Font Size- 12, Time New Roman, Double Spacing, Justified.

Paragraph Heading Font Size- 14, Time New Roman, Underlined, Left Aligned.

Chapter Heading Font Size- 20, Time New Roman, Center Aligned, 30 points above and below spacing.

Code snippet Font Size (if any)– 10, Courier New, Normal.

Page Margins- left 2.5 cm. Right, Top and Bottom 2 cm.

Tables: Legend on top aligned to left of the table, font size 10 Images: Legend on bottom, center aligned, font size 10 Citation: Standard format preferably IEEE

Footnote: Wherever required

Page Numbers: Bottom of the page on the right corner. (Page numbering should start from Main Report)

Project Submission: By or before the last date for the submission of projects, students are required to submit two hard copies of dissertation to the Project Committee. Hard cover should be of Maroon color with golden text (contents of Cover page). Year should be clearly written on the edge of the binding at its upper end. Submission of soft copy of project work on CD including the code and database, other software components, ppt is mandatory.

(If the company/ organization in which the student has done his project is not allowing the student to submit the code in university then the student needs to produce a letter from company/

organization declaring the same.)
